On The Young and the Restless today, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Kyle and Claire celebrated their love, Phyllis sparred with Sally, and Daniel and Tessa talked about the blues.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

At Society, Kyle noted that Nikki and Victoria left quickly. He asked what was up. Claire said he'd like to hear what she had to say. Claire happily told Kyle she was ready to move in with him. They kissed. Kyle wanted to know what brought about this decision. She informed him she had spoken to Victoria and Nikki about it.
"How is Victor going to feel about us moving in together?" Kyle asked. Claire wondered if Kyle was trying to prove something to Victor, but he assured her that cohabiting can't be about their families. Claire agreed. She noted that she didn't break free of Jordan's control for someone else to tell her who she could love. "I'm not going to let anyone tell me how to feel — including you, Kyle," Claire said. "I am saying I've fallen in love with you."
Claire noted that Nikki advised that when you know you're in love, you know you are. She said that when Kyle snores, it sounds like the whistle of a train that's coming to take you away, and that was how she knew she loved him. There are other ways, too, she added. Claire said that when she'd seen romantic scenes on TV, a puppy, a hot fudge sundae, or a shooting star, she thought of him and wanted to call and tell him all about it. Kyle said to Claire that he loved her, too.
Kyle repeated to Claire that he loved her. She said that he told her that in many ways — not with just words. She asked where they should live. "Anywhere with you," he replied. Kyle said an apartment might be better. Claire said they needed a two-bedroom so that Harrison could have a place. Claire playfully shared that Harrison asked for a backyard big enough for a giraffe. Kyle said his son would have to settle for the ranch — if Victor allowed it.
Claire insisted that Victor could be nice, but Kyle thought she was being naive. He added that she was nothing like Summer and therefore, Victor would be more protective of her. Claire said Victor looked at Nikki the way Kyle looked at her; she was up for the challenge of winning Victor over to their side.
Claire said she'd enjoy a housewarming gift from Victor, but she wasn't expecting it. She lovingly told Kyle she'd have to "settle" for living with the man she loved. Kyle and Claire kissed.
Phyllis didn't want Sally sticking around to hear her conversation with Billy at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Billy said it was going to be a problem for him to put effort into getting Daniel on board with Abbott Communications.
"Daniel doesn't know how he feels. Daniel is lost," Phyllis pointed out to Billy. Although sympathetic, Billy didn't think Daniel would find himself in the halls of Abbott Communications. Phyllis asked Billy not to shut them out.
Billy said that while Phyllis had chosen to throw herself into work to deal with her trauma, it didn't mean that that was what Daniel wanted to do. He advised her to let him handle his grief in his own way. Phyllis said all she wanted was a place for Daniel in Billy's company. Billy stated that Daniel was clear he was out, but wondered if that meant Phyllis was as well.
Phyllis backtracked a bit. Billy asked Phyllis to give him an answer immediately. "Are you in or do I need a new second in command?" he demanded to know.
Phyllis attacked Sally for sitting there and not saying anything but judging her. She pointed out that Sally hated Phyllis and Billy's dynamic. Billy stated that Sally had nothing to do with this. "Then, why is she here?" Phyllis demanded to know.
Sally offered to leave, which pleased Phyllis. Billy asked if she was joining Abbott Communications or not. Phyllis asked for a break as her son was in crisis. "I'm in!" Phyllis stated when Billy pushed for an answer.
Billy made it clear: He had sympathy for Daniel. Phyllis inquired if Billy was still open to bringing Daniel on board when he was ready. He said, "Maybe." Phyllis took that and ran with it, commenting that she was the "ultimate multi-tasker." Phyllis said she was going to give "5000%" to Abbott Communications. She proclaimed she'd be the hardest worker and suggested they table the conversation about Daniel until he was more focused.
After Phyllis left, Billy told Sally, "Don't say it." "I have to," she replied. "Sometimes, you are way too nice for your own good." Sally said Phyllis wouldn't know nice if it bit her in the rear end. Billy apologized for Phyllis taking out her frustrations on Sally.
Sally said she wasn't going to offer unsolicited advice, but Bill wanted to hear what she had to say. Sally suggested that Phyllis was a loose cannon and Billy would be wise to cut her loose before she destroys Abbott Communications.
At Crimson Lights, Daniel opened up to Tessa about his feelings about Heather being gone. "I have no idea what's next for me," Daniel said. "I don't see a path forward." He added that Heather would lay out his schedule, and just as he was getting his footing, she was taken away from him in such a terrible way. Now, he was in the position of having to know what was next. He said Phyllis and Lucy needed him to put up a strong front.
Daniel shared that he had backed out of his commitment to work at Billy's new company. "I'm just not ready," he explained, adding that he had initially said yes to Billy for Phyllis's sake. Tessa pointed out that Phyllis was tough and could take care of herself. Tessa told Daniel he needed to stop worrying about everyone else. "I just don't even know where to start," Daniel said.
Daniel said he remembered when he would paint that sometimes all the colors on his palette would fade and would seem gray, but it had never been as bad as he was currently experiencing. Daniel asked Tessa how she handled similar feelings, as she's an artist. He asked her about getting out of her comfort zone.
Tessa revealed that she had a stressful time and was blocked from songwriting. She couldn't pick up her guitar, so she grabbed a harmonica and taught herself how to play it. Tessa said she was feeling the blues, so why not learn to play the blues? It helped her change her perspective on songwriting. She said later her guitar felt lighter, her songs became better, and she kept the harmonica as a reminder.
Daniel said that Tessa's way inspired him. Tessa urged Daniel to go in an unexpected direction. She asked him if there was something he hadn't had the time to do. Daniel said he just might have the thing, but he needed her help.
Phyllis came into the coffee shop and asked Tessa if she could speak to Daniel alone. He said he needed time to think about his future on his own, but admitted he'd asked Tessa for help. A miffed Phyllis wondered why Daniel would take Tessa's help but not hers. Daniel suggested that they not make this a competition.
Phyllis let Daniel know he could call her day or night and gave him a hug before leaving. When Daniel returned to the table, Tessa said she felt bad for Phyllis but noted that most problems could be solved with a hug. Daniel hoped that he'd come out better on the other side. Tessa asked how she could help. Daniel asked her to promise not to laugh, which prompted a laugh from Tessa.
