This week on The Young and the Restless, Daniel backed out of being part of Abbott Communications but urged Phyllis to stay on. Billy refused to help convince Daniel to throw himself into work to deal with his grief, and he suggested Phyllis show her love for her son by letting him go. Sally warned that Billy should cut Phyllis loose. Billy threatened to part ways with Phyllis if she couldn’t accept that Daniel wasn’t ready to commit to the company. Sally denied Audra’s allegation that Sally felt threatened by Phyllis. Sally sensed there was more to Audra and Holden’s past than Audra was letting on. Holden expressed interest in working with Audra, but she rejected his friendly overtures. Tessa agreed to Daniel’s request that she teach him to play guitar to help him rediscover his creativity. Kyle wished Billy well in his new venture. Nikki was taken aback when she found Victor and Audra meeting at the Newman ranch. Victor dodged Nikki’s questions about his association with Audra. Audra informed Kyle that she was back in the cosmetics industry and taunted that she knew his weaknesses. Lily realized that Audra was the reason Holden hadn’t returned to L.A., and she suspected that Holden had something on Audra. Damian and Nate accompanied Amy to Boston to continue her cancer treatment. Victoria discouraged Claire from moving in with Kyle, but Nikki recommended that Claire live her own life and not worry about Victor’s disapproval. Kyle and Claire declared their love and decided to move into their own place together. Cole returned from Europe and shared a heartfelt reunion with Victoria and Claire. Cole presented Victoria with a key to a lock he’d placed on a historic bridge in Serbia. Victor cautioned Cole against trusting Kyle, but Cole stood by letting Claire make her own choices. Victor predicted that Cole’s heart would shatter when Kyle broke Claire’s. Diane announced that the redecoration of the Abbott mansion was complete. Diane unveiled her changes to Kyle and a nervous Jack, who were impressed. Jack marveled that Diane had earned her place there by preserving his family’s legacy while putting her own stamp on their home. Adam invited Chelsea to work with him, and she agreed to consider it.
