A curious Diane realized that Jack had not asked about the house renovations, which should be done in a few weeks. The conversation turned to Victor and his control issues regarding Kyle and Claire. Diane noted that Jack and Victor had a brief halt in their animosity. Jack said he was looking forward to going back home.

Jack conceded he was having trouble giving Diane control over the redo of the Abbott mansion. He said he could not wait to see what she's done with the place. "I won't let you down," Diane promised. Jack's wife said she knew there was something else he wasn't telling her, but she trusted that he would tell her what was bothering him. Diane said she needed to know one thing: promise that he's okay. Jack said he was fine and that Diane shouldn't worry. Diane said her changes were going to be fabulous.

Meanwhile, Billy gently approached Phyllis at Society, hoping she'd had a chance to calm down since their last talk. Phyllis revealed she did some research on Dumas, but that all she found out was...nothing. How could someone so wealthy fly under the radar, Phyllis wondered? Billy explained it away by saying he just wanted to stay hidden. Phyllis countered that "Aristotle Dumas" isn't even likely the mystery man's name. She wanted to know what Billy wasn't telling her.

Phyllis threw it in Billy's face that Jill had fired her. She pointed out that they had Jack's backing to build Abbott Communications. Billy asked Phyllis if she had filled Daniel in on anything. Phyllis said she had not. Phyllis warned Billy that dealing with Dumas could come at a huge price. She was worried that the whole thing could be derailed. Billy said Dumas is determined to help them get Chancellor back. Just then, Lily interrupted the two and said she was hearing Dumas's name everywhere. Lily wanted to know what was going on. Phyllis snarked that Lily shouldn't be eavesdropping. Lily accused Phyllis of starting it. They agreed to share information about Dumas. "You go first," Phyllis said.

Lily filled Phyllis and Billy in on Nate having a half-brother. They wanted to know more, but Lily said it was their turn to share information. Billy told her about how Dumas had reached out to him. Dumas's name is fake, Lily surmised. Phyllis quipped, "Who names their kid 'Aristotle?'" Lily got her order, thanked Billy, and said goodbye to him and Phyllis. Phyllis told Billy that he didn't share everything he knew with Lily. Billy, in turn, said neither did Lily. Phyllis suggested they distance themselves from Dumas before he became "The Count of Genoa City."

At the Neil Winters Jazz Lounge, Nate and Damian met with Holden to talk about the misinformation that Damian said was out there about him and Aristotle Dumas. Holden talked about how everything had changed since he and Damian came to town. Holden wanted to know why Damian was so short with him. He asked Nate if he was behind this thing.

Nate said he had no desire to interfere in Holden and Damian's relationship. He isn't bothered by Holden and Audra's past relationship. Nate advised that everyone chill out before this went too far. Holden said Nate should talk to Lily to find out where she was getting her bogus information. Nate agreed that that was a good idea.

Holden pointed out that Damian has enemies out there, given his success. He theorized that Lily was making all this up. Nate said Lily wouldn't do that. Damian agreed that Lily was a straight shooter. "She has no hidden agenda," Nate added about Lily. Damian wanted to know why Victor Newman would want to sabotage his relationship with Nate. Just then, Lily came upon them and asked Nate if he had told Damian about Victor.

Lily sighed that if she wanted people to know about her talks with Victor, she would have said so. She was not sure whether Victor's information was unreliable. "This is Victor Newman we're talking about here," Nate said to Lily. She said back to Nate that Victor's reliable source should be concerning to him.

Damian pushed back. He claimed to have no idea about Nate being his half-brother. He only had Holden take his place at the initial meeting because he was suspicious. Damian said he was dealing with a lot — learning his mother was dying, his father wasn't truly his father, and discovering he had a half-brother. Lily conceded that no one was denying that. Damian asked what he could do to convince Nate and Lily that he was on the up and up.

Lily asked Damian to come clean on Dumas. "If you want us to believe that your interest in our family is innocent, then what is his agenda in Genoa City?" Lily asked.

At Crimson Lights, Sally and Chloe talk about Billy. Sally revealed that despite her warnings, Billy was determined to work with Phyllis. Sally conceded that Phyllis hadn't done anything yet, but she filled Chloe in on the deal (with Dumas) and she didn't think that Phyllis would be a good influence on him. Chloe suggested to Sally that she get Phyllis out of Billy's orbit. Chloe said when Phyllis is involved, there should be concern. Sally said she didn't want to even know that story. Chloe said that Phyllis was her own worst enemy.

Sally wasn't sure if she was ready to make a move to try to get Phylis out of Billy's life. She wants to establish trust with Billy. "I'm not that woman anymore," Sally stated. Chloe shrugged that Sally couldn't complain if things didn't work out later.

Phyllis showed up at Crimson Lights and asked if she could have a word with Sally. She asked for Sally's help with Billy. Phyllis pointed out to Sally that the enigmatic Dumas is potential trouble. Sally agreed. "If anyone can dissuade Billy from doing a deal with Dumas, it's you," Phyllis told Sally.

Phyllis suggested to Sally that she try to get Billy to see an alternative point of view. Sally pointed out that she didn't know what Billy's motivations were. Phyllis said she did. Sally said she trusted Billy's decisions. Phyllis theorized to Sally that Billy could lose everything. Phyllis urged her one-time rival to put Billy and Abbott Communications first.

Jack visited Billy at his place. Billy told Jack he appreciated what Jack was doing for him regarding Abbott Communications. Billy brought up Aristotle Dumas's name and asked Jack what he knew about him. Billy said that Aristotle had reached out to him with a hell of an offer. Billy noted that Abbott Communications means everything to him. He knows he can go head-to-head with the competition. Jack said he trusted Billy and showed him how much by signing a document "exactly as we had discussed" so Billy could move forward with his new business endeavor.

Jack advised Billy that this could be trouble for him if he was not careful. "I see the red lights flashing on both sides," Billy said. Billy even admitted he didn't know why Dumas was making overtures for multiple people.

Billy said that Dumas appeared to be one of his biggest fans and wanted to help him. A guarded Jack told Billy that this was just the type of temptation he did not need.
