The Young and the Restless fans think Amy is lying

On The Young and the Restless, the tension continues with Damian and Amy, and it’s leaving fans (and Nate) to speculate about what drove Damian and Amy apart in the first place.

On The Young and the Restless, Amy (Valarie Pettiford) lost touch with her son Damian (Jermaine Rivers) some time ago. Now that he’s been located and is in town, Amy badly wants him to accept her and talk to her before she passes away from cancer.

On the minds of many fans is the question: How did they become estranged in the first place? Fans of The Young and the Restless on Reddit have been weighing in with their thoughts. On the subreddit r/youngandtherestless, user Kit-kat1000 wrote, “What do y’all think the rift between Damien and Amy is all about? Why do we think he has so much anger? And she’s not talking about it.”

User Hotgalkitty replied, “I love the storyline but they are dragging it out too much. it's hard to keep interest when you only see the characters once a week. and I'm tired of Amy lamenting over and over.”

User secretagent2638 replied, along with creatively offering where the story could be headed. “Audra told Amy how she felt about her alcholic Dad and her emotionally unavailable Mom. Maybe this is the same case for Damian - Amy had some sort of issue and Damian felt neglected somehow. Or maybe Damian found out his Dad was not his bio Dad but Amy said he did not know that. I was also thinking that maybe Amy not having much money, used Damian's SS info and applied for credit cards or loans to keep her afloat after the death of her spouse? We never have seen a storyline like that but that can definately cause a huge riff between people and all the trust in the relationship is gone,” secretagent2638 wrote.

The Redditor made an interesting point regarding Amy and Audra’s new relationship. The two have gotten very close, and Audra let down her guard with Amy, sharing information about her past and being compassionate to Amy’s health. The user added, “Amy is coming across to Audra as a kind caring person/Mom which Audra never experienced. So Audra is being trusting with Amy. Amy seems to think that she did nothing wrong, she was a good Mom to Damian but I think she is leaving out an important detail which would change everything we know now. When the truth comes out, Audra may be devastated once again over trust issues.”

User SilkCitySista agreed, adding, “I’ve always been suspicious of Amy but can’t pinpoint why. I don’t trust her — just a vibe.” NoMoreBeers69 replied to that by saying, “Me too, something is just not sitting right there 😞”

So, we have a few ideas about what the fans think is going on in that dynamic, and several sound plausible. All we know for sure is that for now, Damian doesn't want anything to do with Nate or Amy or the Winters and just wants to get out of Dodge and forget all about ever coming to Genoa City.

This may be harder for Holden than for Damian, as we saw Holden (Nathan Owens) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) chatting about the past and how Audra owes Holden “Big time.” Then again, Damian seemed to like what he saw when he bumped into Lily. Maybe Damian and Holden will be interested in Genoa City residents after all.
