The Young and the Restless couple shuffle: Will 'Shick' give it another go? Are Billy and Phyllis 'on' again?

As with any soap opera, The Young and The Restless has produced its fair share of deaths or almost-deaths that saw the character return to the show, it has also seen many couples break up and make up repeatedly over the years.

Some fan-favorite couples that we’ve seen and adored over the years are Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case). Another pair who seems to be inching closer to each other — secretly — is Billy (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) whose past is anything but romance novel fuel.

Yay or nay for Shick?

Having met when they were teenagers. Sharon and Nick have overcome obstacle after obstacle through the years. They have even been in multiple other relationships. Nick and Sharon still found their way back to each other before eventually separating again.

Although Nick is overjoyed to have Sharon back safely, he has declined her offer to go to Europe to be with their children. Since Sharon has been appreciating the simple things in life that she feels she’s previously taken for granted, she may be relishing in past feelings for Nick and wanting to explore them once again.

Nick admitted to also having this line of thought but is still hesitant. Although Nick and Sharon obviously have a history worth noting, something or someone seems to manage to tear them apart, including affairs, outside children, and even deaths. Is a spin around the block necessary for Sharon and Nick? Or should they let their romance fizzle, once and for all?

Is there a Billy and Phyllis rekindling in the works?

Although Billy is currently dating Sally (Courtney Hope), his efforts to save Phyllis seem to have gone beyond a friendly gesture and their on-screen chemistry is undeniable. The consensus on Billy’s current relationship seems to suggest that fans aren’t feeling it and may even deem it boring. Before her kidnapping, Phyllis had Billy on the brain — and not just in a friendly way.

Their checkered past would lean more towards a no on reconciliation, especially with Billy having slept with Phyllis' daughter. Their relationship also began via an affair while Phyllis was married to Billy's brother, Jack.

However, a reunion could still be in the works. Their on-screen chemistry is there. Phyllis also hasn't had a love interest in some time now and may be ready to dive in again. Is BIlly's hesitance due to worry for Phyllis' well-being following all that she's been through as of late? Or did he consider their bridge burned long ago?

Giving The Young and the Restless fans what they want

Fans are cheering for supercouple 'Shick' to rekindle their ongoing flame of many years and Sharon seems on board with it, but is Nick? Is he hesitant due to their past? Does he not want to get their children’s hopes up in the event that it doesn’t work out once again? Or is he not trying to get his own hopes up, in case it doesn’t work out again? All things considered, Nick’s hesitance is completely understandable.

The Young and the Restless fans show much more interest in Billy being paired with Phyllis as opposed to Sally. But, is Billy truly thinking of Phyllis in the same way that she's thinking of him? Stay tuned to find out.
