Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless, Jack had been hopeful that when Ashley came home, she could help shed some light on the Alan situation. It didn’t take long for him to get his wish. From hearing Traci and Alan on the phone to seeing him in person, Ashley said she knew that Alan was indeed Martin. It was heartbreaking when she sat Traci down and tearfully told her that what she learned in her therapy was that Martin was extremely good at impersonating people and that it wasn’t their fault that he’d fooled them all. For months, we have all feared that Traci’s heart would be broken yet again, but knowing in advance didn’t help make it any easier to play out — to the point that we were suddenly hoping Ashley was wrong. Traci gave all the “but what ifs” she could, and we were right along with her. Maybe it was still Alan, somehow, and he was just hurt and reacting, like Traci suggested. Maybe it’s both Alan who loves Traci, and also Martin who kidnapped Sharon and Phyllis. Maybe Alan really is Alan, and Traci doesn’t have to cry. But when our beloved always-her-own-hero Traci marched up, interrupted Chance, and defiantly demanded answers from Alan, Martin, or a third triplet we never knew about, we were all reminded that even though it’s hard to watch Traci’s heart shatter, the girl’s gonna get through this one, too — however it turns out.
