Nick stopped into Society on his way to Sharon's. He wanted to check with Mariah and Tessa to see if they had an update on Sharon. Mariah said Sharon had led a meeting earlier like a powerhouse. Nick agreed that was good news but said he would assess Sharon at dinner. "Better safe than sorry," Nick said. He promised to check in with Mariah and Tessa later.

After Nick left, Tessa said she didn't want to add to Mariah's stress but had bad news. Their nanny, Petra, was joining a cross-country poetry jam. Tessa said she hadn't met a nanny who could hold a candle to Petra. Mariah said she had.

Sharon found earrings that Nick had given to her and was excited to wear them to dinner. Faith asked why Sharon was getting dressed up for Nick. Sharon downplayed her excitement and said she had found the earrings in a jewelry box and had forgotten she had them. Faith said she had the perfect bracelet to go with the outfit and went upstairs to get it.

Cameron appeared and reminded Sharon that someone would be arrested for Heather's death, and he guessed it would be either Daniel or Sharon. Sharon said she had planted the bloody towels and Heather's phone in Daniel's apartment. "No one is looking for me," Sharon said.

Cameron said Sharon needed to stick to the plan and call the cops on Daniel. Sharon said Cameron had promised that she would get Nick back, so having dinner with Nick was part of the plan. Faith returned with the bracelet just before Nick knocked on the door. Nick felt underdressed when he saw Sharon. She told him that life was short, and she was no longer putting off joy. Sharon said if she wanted to dress up or wear fancy jewelry, she would do it. Nick and Faith liked Sharon's attitude.

At Crimson Lights, Victoria told Cole and Claire that Katie and Johnny were warming up to them. Claire said she had to go to the craft store before it closed. Victoria wondered if she had plans with Kyle. Claire's face fell slightly, and she said she did not. After Claire left, Victoria wondered if Kyle and Claire had fizzled out already. Victoria worried that her attitude about love had soured Claire on relationships.

Victoria said it was no big secret that she'd had her fair share of heartbreak. Cole sensed that Victoria wasn't fully letting herself go in their relationship. Victoria was scared to let down her guard. Because of her relationship history, she was sure it wouldn't work out with Cole. Cole wished he could have loved and protected Victoria from her previous heartbreaks.

Cole wanted his words to sink in with Victoria so she would know his intentions. Claire had just returned to Crimson Lights when she got a text. Claire said she needed to meet someone. "No, not Kyle," Claire said before leaving.

Chance went to Daniel's apartment and told him that someone, possibly Heather, had gone through a lot of trouble to ensure her phone's location was protected. Chance said Heather's last known location was in the apartment building the night she had disappeared. Daniel said it didn't make sense for Heather to go to those lengths, as she had said she would only be gone for a few days.

Daniel balked when Chance said he wanted to talk to Lucy. Chance explained that he was trying to build a timeline and that Lucy might know something she didn't realize was important. "I don't want her to be interrogated like a criminal," Daniel said. Chance said it would be a conversation, but he would stop if it were too much for Lucy. Lucy joined Chance in the living room and asked how she could help.

Chance said that he and Heather had once been close. Lucy recounted how Sharon had blamed Lucy for the accident with Faith. Lucy confirmed that Sharon had gone off on Heather and Lucy in person and that Heather had defended Lucy. Chance wondered if Lucy had ever seen her parents fight about moving away.

Daniel and Lucy asked if Chance was trying to paint the narrative that Daniel was somehow involved in Heather's death. Chance said he was trying to determine where Heather had been going, why she'd felt she'd needed to go, and what she had been doing by the river. Lucy asked what would happen next. Chance said he had another person to question.

Mariah told Tessa to play it cool as Claire joined them at Society. They explained to Claire that their nanny had quit and that they were looking for a replacement. They didn't want to sound desperate but were in a bind. Mariah said that she had seen Claire with Harrison and thought she would be a fantastic nanny for Aria. Claire was flattered but was caught off guard. She asked for some time to consider their offer.

At the Athletic Club, Nick recognized Sharon's earrings as a pair he had bought for her many years before. Sharon was touched that he remembered. She recalled their first dinner at a restaurant called Ovens of Brittany. Nick couldn't believe their kids were older than Nick and Sharon had been on their first date. They agreed they should be proud of the way their lives had turned out.

Nick asked Sharon how she was doing. She said that she and her doctor thought she was doing well. Nick said that she had gone through some trying times. Sharon appreciated that Nick had always been there for her, and she called him her rock. She added that she wasn't struggling anymore because of him. She said Nick was the wake-up call that she had needed. "I don't think you realize how much strength your presence gives me," Sharon said.

Faith didn't want to be home when Sharon returned from dinner, so she saw Mariah and Tessa at Society. Faith said that Sharon had been excited when Nick had shown up. Faith wondered if her parents could reunite.

Mariah was dumbstruck and reminded Faith that Nick had only taken Sharon for dinner to check on her mental state. Mariah didn't understand why Faith was hoping for a rom-com ending to the evening. Faith said it was a long shot but wouldn't be the worst thing to happen. Faith thought Nick might be able to keep Sharon out of the deep hole she went down.

Claire returned to Crimson Lights and was happy that her parents were still there. She told them about the job offer from Mariah and Tessa. Claire didn't know when Nikki's job offer would take effect, and she suggested that she could be Aria's nanny until Nikki was ready. Victoria said the position with Nikki could open any day. Cole warned Claire not to take the nanny position and then leave them high and dry. Claire said she had gone from having no choices to having too many.

After Cole left, Claire and Victoria commented on how positive he always was, and they said that it made them feel good to be around him. Victoria noted that even Johnny and Katie tried to resist liking Cole but couldn't. Claire suggested that Victoria take the next step and let Cole move in. Victoria said that it was too soon. Claire said that Victoria was still protecting her heart, but Victoria hadn't said no to living with Cole.

On her doorstep, Sharon told Nick that it felt like old times, and he agreed. "Thanks for inviting me out. That was exactly what I needed," Sharon said as she stared longingly at Nick. "Me, too. I needed that more than I realized," Nick agreed. He paused and stared back at her. Sharon stepped forward, and they kissed.

Sharon told Nick she shouldn't have done that and assumed she had misread the moment. "You didn't misread anything," Nick said. They continued kissing as they moved inside and to the couch. Nick took off his shirt and leaned over Sharon. "Oh, my God, spare me the first love fantasy!" Cameron interjected. Sharon snapped back to reality as Cameron recounted her awkward hug with Nick in the driveway. "The bum didn't even walk you to the door," Cameron added.

Sharon said that Nick just didn't want to push her, as he knew how fragile she had been. Cameron told her to hit pause on the romance novel. "You're not out of the woods yet, not by a long shot," Cameron warned.

Sharon told Cameron to stop pushing her to finish what she had started with Daniel. Faith startled Sharon when she came home. Faith said that it was good to see her mom smiling again. Sharon said she was better and told Faith to stop worrying about her. After Faith went to bed, there was a knock at the door. "I was hoping you would come back!" Sharon exclaimed as she opened the door. Expecting Nick, Sharon was shocked to see Chance instead. Chance said he knew it was late. "What is this about?" Sharon asked. "Heather Stevens," Chance replied.
