When Jack returned home, he was distraught about Faith’s accident. Diane told Jack she was concerned that people at the office questioned her right to be in charge, and she feared that Kyle had planted that seed. Jack said that given the conversation he'd had with Kyle, it was entirely possible.
Jack explained that Kyle had been miserable the moment he'd seen his dad. As much as Jack wanted to blame Victor, he could see that something deeper was upsetting Kyle. Diane said she was the root of the problem. Diane pointed out that Jack sided with her every time there was a dispute. Diane suggested that Kyle supported their relationship because it was expected, or perhaps he'd mistaken gratitude that she was alive for forgiveness.
Jack told Diane that her past mistakes were ancient history, but Diane said they needed to acknowledge the damage she'd done. Diane said that faking her death had seriously hurt Kyle, and it was most likely the source of Kyle’s anger. Diane said if her theory was right, Kyle wouldn’t be returning anytime soon. Their conversation was interrupted when Alan and Traci walked in. Traci said she wanted to live full-time in the Abbott house, and Jack and Diane were pleased with her decision. Alan added that he was moving into the Athletic Club.
At the Athletic Club, Kyle wanted to leave, but Victor stopped him. Victor asked for an update about Kyle's custody battle with Summer. Kyle assured Victor that his family issues would not interfere with his parenting of Harrison.

On behalf of Nikki, Victor asked Kyle to start looking for a replacement for Claire. Kyle said he couldn’t see Claire leaving because she was so attached to Harrison. Victor said he would find a replacement, but Kyle said the timing wasn’t great, as he planned on moving, and that would be too much change at once for Harrison. Victor explained that he wanted Claire to go back to school and work with Nikki. Kyle said he didn't think he could honor Victor's request.
At Crimson Lights, Billy and Chelsea discussed her cheating with Adam. Billy said he believed that Chelsea would have told him the truth earlier if Adam hadn't convinced her to lie. Chelsea told Billy she loved him and wanted to fix their relationship. Billy said it was one thing for her to cheat, but a whole other thing for it to have been with Adam.
Chelsea insisted it was because of the situation that she'd cheated; it wasn't because it was with Adam. Billy said it would make him feel better if it were an isolated incident, but there was a history of her and Adam. Chelsea said being with Adam had broken her, and she would never be in a relationship with him again. Billy wanted to believe that but wasn’t sure he could. Billy asked if Chelsea would hurt herself if he couldn’t get over what had happened.
Chelsea pointed out her personal growth since her breakdown and added that she was dedicated to Connor's well-being. Chelsea told Billy that she hoped he would forgive her, but no matter what, she would never go back to that dark place. Chelsea didn’t want Billy to forgive her because he was worried that she would unravel, but if there was no future, then he should tell her.
Chelsea worried that her actions would affect Connor. She told Billy that if things didn’t work out, they needed to be sensitive to how they told Connor, so he didn’t spin out. Billy said Chelsea didn’t need to ask; he didn’t want anything to affect Connor, either. “I didn’t expect to ever feel this way again, so I have to make sure it doesn’t get the best of me,” Billy said, then he asked Chelsea to give him some time.
Sally packed her bags and tried to walk out, but Adam stopped her. He was afraid that if she left, he would never see her again.
Adam told Sally he loved her and didn’t want to lose her. Sally reminded him that she had worried for weeks and blamed herself for his distance while she'd begged him to tell the truth. Sally said she had even been afraid to remind Adam it was the anniversary of losing Ava, but Adam was "so selfish and dishonest." Adam said he had deluded himself into thinking it was better to have lied than to have told the truth.
Adam wanted Sally to know that she made him a better person. “If you need someone else to make you a decent person, then you never had a shot in the first place,” Sally snapped. Sally yelled at Adam that he made her feel guilty for doubting him when he'd been lying all along. “How can you say that you love me and watch me feel this way?” Sally cried.
Adam told Sally he asked himself the same thing and didn’t know why he did the things he did. “There is something instead of me that is off or dead. I sabotage my own happiness and push away the people that I love,” Adam said. He added that he wasn't proud of his selfish actions and disregard for others, yet he didn’t know how to stop. Adam suggested couples counselling, but Sally felt placated. Adam promised that from that point on, he would be nothing but honest with her.
Sally questioned why Adam thought he was suddenly a changed man. Sally said that Adam’s dishonesty was too ingrained and came too naturally. She didn’t believe he could just suddenly stop. Sally asked if Adam cared too little or was so dead inside that he felt no fear or remorse for how he treated people.
When Sally asked Adam about his feelings for Chelsea, he couldn't give a straight answer. "Was anything that happened between you and Chelsea about love?" Sally asked. Eventually, Adam reluctantly admitted that it was.
