Y&R's Eric Braeden announces he is cancer-free

Eric Braeden announced he is cancer-free, approximately four months after telling fans about his initial bladder cancer diagnosis.

Great news from The Young and the Restless star, as Eric Braeden announced he is cancer-free, approximately four months after he first told fans about his sbladder cancer diagnosis.

In a Facebook Live video, the actor, who has played Y&R patriarch Victor Newman for more than four decades, thanked fans for their thoughts and prayers and shared the happy update.

"It's meant a great deal to me, and I can tell you it obviously has helped, because I had my last cystoscopy two days ago -- that's when they thread a camera into your bladder -- and I'm cancer-free," Braeden said. "They couldn't find a damn thing. Isn't that nice?"

He provided further details signaling that the "fight" is not over, explaining the malignant tumor he'd previously gotten removed from his bladder contained "high-grade cancer cells," so there will be three prophylactic infusions coming his way, with hopes that it will kill the cancer.

"Every so often, every few months, I'll have another cystoscopy, all to find the damn thing early and to fight it," Braeden said. "To hell with it."

We at Soap Central wish Braeden continued strong health as he fights and wins his cancer battle.
