Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell) is still a part of The Young and the Restless cast but you might not be seeing her as often as you'd like.
It's a classic soap opera dilemma for soap opera fans: not seeing your favorite character as often as you'd like but seeing a character you don't like far too often. The reason for the disparate number of appearances lies somewhere in the nebulous "guarantees" that make up a performer's contract.
In short, a guarantee is the number of episodes that a performer is -- you guessed it -- guaranteed to appear during a set period of time, typically a week or a month.
Fans recently took to social media to ask Emmy-nominated Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell) why she hasn't been seen on-screen in recent weeks. The answer? The actress is no longer on contract with The Young and the Restless. That means there is no predefined number of episodes that she'll appear in, and her character only appears as needed.

But there is some good news, Chloe fans.
"I am still on the show," Hendrickson said emphatically on social media. "I'm just not under contract, which means I work when they write for Chloe. I am not guaranteed a certain number of shows per week or per month."
Hendrickson joined The Young and the Restless in 2008 after a lengthy run on All My Children. From 2018 to 2019, Hendrickson jumped from Y&R to General Hospital, where she played Margaux Dawson.
"I miss telling stories from Chloe's point of view. I had a good run, though, and love that I still see my friends a few times a month," Hendrickson added.
Hendrickson has received four Daytime Emmys nominations in the Supporting Actress category. Those nods came in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2018.
Hendrickson's most recent appearance was June 1.
Hendrickson isn't the only Y&R performer that fans will be seeing less of in the weeks and months to come. For more on three other actors that have been dropped from the show, continue reading here.
