Shemar Moore to reprise role as Y&R's Malcolm Winters

It's been almost 18 years since Shemar Moore left his full-time role as Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless. The actor will reprise his role later this spring.

The 50th anniversary celebration continues! The Young and the Restless will welcome back fan favorite Shemar Moore (Malcolm Winters) later this spring.

According to Deadline, Malcolm "returns to town to connect with his daughter Lily (Christel Khalil) and nephews Devon (Bryton James) and Nate (Sean Dominic)."

This won't be the first time that Moore has returned to the show since his exit 18 years ago. In 2019, Moore returned for a special episode to celebrate the life of Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters).

Moore's television career kicked off in 1994 when he joined the cast of The Young and the Restless. His work as Malcolm earned him a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2000. He picked up Outstanding Younger Actor nods in 1996 and 1997, and an Outstanding Lead Actor nomination in 1999.

Moore left in 2005 to focus on a film and primetime television career. Beginning that same year, he enjoyed an eleven-year run as Derek Morgan on CBS' Criminal Minds. Since 2017, Moore has starred as Sergeant II Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson on S.W.A.T. -- also on CBS. S.W.A.T. remains on the bubble and has not yet been renewed for another season.

Earlier this year, Moore welcomed his first child, a little girl named Frankie, with girlfriend Jesiree Dizon.

Look for Moore's return on Monday, May 8.
