The Young and the Restless' Abhi Sinha lands series regular role in NBC pilot Blank Slate

A new NBC pilot called Blank Slate is set to feature Abhi Sinha (ex-Ravi Shapur, The Young and the Restless) in the series regular role of a tech specialist named Cornelius Kepler.

Actor Abhi Sinha could be taking a few notes from his former The Young and the Restless alter ego, Ravi Shapur, for his next project. The actor has signed on to play a tech specialist in the NBC pilot Blank Slate, which will turn into a series regular role if the pilot is given a green light.

Described by Deadline as having parallels to NBC's The Blacklist, Blank Slate focuses on Special Agent Alexander McCoy (Matt Passmore), a legend in law enforcement, the agent people hope is out there, the agent everyone would like to be. The only issue is -- he doesn't actually exist. He's a ghost, a phantom. So, what happens when a man claiming to be Alexander McCoy walks through the door with all his skills and knowledge, but with an agenda nobody will see coming?

Sinha is set to play Cornelius Kepler, a Homeland Security tech specialist who uses his advanced IT skills to get whatever information the team needs. It's a role that definitely isn't out of left field for the actor, who played a tech-savvy app developer during his 2016 to 2018 stint on Y&R.

"So grateful to work with this amazing cast and crew," Sinha shared on Instagram. "Lets get it!"

In addition to Sinha, Blank Slate is set to star Floriana Lima and Dave Annable. The pilot was created by Dean Georgaris and John Fox, written by Georgaris, and will be directed by Richard Shepard.

Since leaving Y&R in 2018, Sinha has gone on to appear in the series This Is Us and S.W.A.T., as well as in the films Browse and Poor Paul.
