Get ready for Chelsea's return to Genoa City, because The Young and the Restless' Melissa Claire Egan says she'll be back on the canvas in a jiffy! But will she still be in hospital scrubs?
Fans of The Young and the Restless have been missing Melissa Claire Egan and her fan-fave character, Chelsea Lawson, and it turns out the sentiment goes both ways. Egan took to Instagram to tease that she'll soon be back on the canvas, and she shared a little message from her troublemaking alter ego.
"Chelsea's missed you all!" the actress teased, adding that she is "excited to be back in Genoa City soon."
Egan left the canvas in mid-August for maternity leave, and she gave birth to her son, Caden Robert Katrosar, later that same month. In preparation for the actress' absence, Y&R's writers first penned a storyline in which Chelsea was admitted to a mental hospital and then wrote a twist in which the character was temporarily released to help her mother recover from a hip injury.

So, the question is, will Chelsea have to go back to the mental hospital when she returns to Genoa City? According to Egan's post, probably not! The actress says that her return to the show is "sans mental hospital scrubs" -- though she does point out that they served the very practical purpose of hiding her growing baby bump!
In closing, Egan asks fans what they think is in store for Chelsea when she returns. Some are anticipating Chelsea will throw "hellfire and brimstone" at Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), who's set her sights on Adam (Mark Grossman), while others are guessing that Chelsea will reunite with Nick (Joshua Morrow).
