Horrific Netflix crime thriller nabs Y&R's Thad Luckinbill for two roles

The Netflix crime thriller Reptile has cast The Young and the Restless' Thad Luckinbill (ex-J.T. Hellstrom) opposite Benicio Del Toro, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Silverstone, Frances Fisher, and more.

Genoa City might be looking more and more like a speck in the rearview mirror for The Young and the Restless alum Thad Luckinbill (ex-J.T. Hellstrom), who just landed a role in Netflix's highly anticipated, mega-star-studded crime thriller, Reptile.

Luckinbill joins Benicio Del Toro, who stars in the leading role of a hardened detective who attempts to uncover the truth in a brutal murder case where nothing is as it seems. In trying to solve the mystery of the young woman's death, the detective finds himself dismantling the illusions in his own life.

Reptile also stars Justin Timberlake, Alicia Silverstone, Frances Fisher (ex-Suzette Saxon, Guiding Light), Michael Pitt, Ato Essandoh, Eric Bogosian, Domenick Lombardozzi, Karl Glusman, Matilda Lutz, Owen Teague, and Catherine Dyer.

Luckinbill isn't just starring in the Netflix crime drama -- he's also producing the film alongside Molly Smith and Trent Luckinbill for Black Label Media. His previous producing credits include La La Land and the Korean War drama Devotion, while his acting credits include 8 Simple Rules, Undressed, Nikita, and Y&R (where he played J.T. from 1999 to 2010, from 2017 to 2018, and again in 2019).

Reptile will be helmed by prolific music video director Grant Singer, who has worked with big names such as Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, and Lorde. The film marks Singer's feature film debut.
