Emily O'Brien let go from Y&R

The Young and the Restless has trimmed its roster of actress Emily O'Brien. O'Brien has earned two Daytime Emmy nods since joining the series in 2006.

Two-time Daytime Emmy nominee Emily O'Brien (Jana Hawkes) has been let go from The Young and the Restless, Soap Central has learned.

O'Brien, who was born in Bedfordshire, England, joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in 2006. Y&R was the actress' first contracted acting gig, though O'Brian did make a series of appearances in feature films prior to launching her career in daytime.

In 2008 and 2009, O'Brien earned Daytime Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Younger Actress category. She is pre-nominated in the category again this year.

A Y&R spokesperson declined to comment, noting that show policy prevents the discussion of contracts.

O'Brien's final airdate has not yet been announced.
