The Young and the Restless has finally issued a statement confirming Roscoe Born's (Tom Fisher) exit from the show. Sure, the character was shot and killed earlier this month - but on the soaps you can never be entirely sure that someone is (with all apologies to The Wizard of Oz) positively, absolutely dead."It's been a hell of a ride," Born said in a statement. "I'll miss so many great people throughout the studio, on every level of production. My thanks and best wishes to all."A veteran of more than half a dozen daytime dramas, many of Born's previous daytime personas have typically been considered villains - and quite a few ended up dead. Soap viewers may remember Born from his roles on Guiding Light, As the World Turns, Days of Our Lives, All My Children, The City, Santa Barbara, One Life to Live and Ryan's Hope.Born declined all media requests for an interview about his Y&R departure. He joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in April 2005; his role was always planned to be short-term.
