Wings Hauser, ex-Greg Foster, The Young and The Restless Dead at 77

Wings Hauser, who played the part of Greg Foster on The Young and the Restless from 1977 to 1981, and, again, in 2010, died on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in Santa Monica after a long battle with COPD. Born Gerald Dwight Hauser, the actor was 77 years old when he passed away.

The news of his passing was reported on the Facebook page titled "Cali Lili Indies Pictures Words Music In Motion FeMt0 Studi0."

"Movie icon Wings Hauser took flight in the arms of his film & music partner, Cali Lili Hauser at their studio this weekend," the post read.

"Born in Hollywood, proud Academy member and prouder son of Academy Award-winning writer, director, producer Dwight A. Hauser and loving mother Geraldine T. Hauser, Wings Hauser’s one-of-a-kind, legendary career spanned 58 years in movies, TV & music working alongside many of the greatest artists in the industry and earning their respect. His recent and upcoming releases along with his living wish are handing the torch to the love of his life, Cali, requesting she continue the work embodying their partnership, their love story, and honoring his legacy.

"Wings asks movie and music lovers in lieu of flowers or cards that they please show ongoing support for current and future projects by the award-winning sustainable indie film and music studio, a sea-life and butterfly sanctuary hand-built by the Hausers."

Wings Hauser's long career

After exiting Y&R in the early 1980s, Hauser worked non-stop. His many credits include Magnum, P.I., The Fall Guy, Hardcastle and McCormick, Airwolf, The A-Team, and Roseanne. Hauser recurred on Beverly Hills, 90210 for six episodes as J. Jay Jones. He also appeared in the movie Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time. His last credit was as Doctor Goddard in the 2019 film Eve N' God: This Female is Not Yet Rated.

Hauser reprised the role of Greg on Y&R in 2010 along with TV brother David Hasselhoff (ex-Snapper). The brothers reunited to bid farewell to their dying mother, Liz (Julianna McCarthy).

Hauser is survived by his wife, Cali, and his son, actor Cole Hauser, who appears on Yellowstone.
