Update: How the L.A. fires are devastating stars of The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital and more

Fans of The Young and the Restless’ Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) have been anxiously awaiting an update from the soap star since the video he posted overnight of the L.A. fires and how close the flames were burning near his home.

Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan, The Bold and the Beautiful) and Cameron Mathison (Drew Quartermaine, General Hospital) have shared that they are safe. However, they are among the thousands who have tragically lost their homes in the fires.

Braeden posted another video today, captioning it, “Saying goodbye.” Firefighting aircraft can be seen and heard overhead as flames roar in the background. Narrating as he filmed, The Young and the Restless star said they had to evacuate their house. “Okay, everyone...to see this beautiful area go up in flames. Unbelievable,” Braeden said. He paused while talking, then said firmly, “All right. God bless you all. Be cool. Goodbye.”

Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful)

Courtney Hope, Braeden's castmate who plays Sally Spectra on The Young and the Restless offered a quick update as she had been getting plenty of messages asking if she was okay. She posted a video on her Instagram assuring that she and her family were safe. Courtney explained that she was ordered to evacuate at 5:30 a.m. and went to her parent’s house in Calabasas. She reported that she only lost a fence and a tree and considered herself very lucky considering the many friends who had lost their homes.

The Young and the Restless star asked her followers to keep sharing helpful information about shelters and lists of what to take if someone has to flee. “I can tell you this morning my head was spinning, and having a list was so helpful,” she added. She advised those who were in the line of fire, or anyone who might have to leave where they are, to think about what they want to take as it was better to have to put it back than not have it. She also asked people to keep praying and suggested that those who are in a safe zone and have the ability to open their homes to friends who are in the fires do so. Courtney also reminded people like her with asthma, along with anyone with cardiovascular or respiratory issues, to take care and mind the air quality warnings.

Ashley shared photos, noting that the smoke had shifted, so she wasn’t sure if it was a good sign. An hour later, she updated that the Hollywood Hills near the CBS studio was on fire and being evacuated as well. Shocked and in tears, it was heartbreaking to hear her voice crack as she said she couldn’t “believe this was happening.”

Casey Kasprzyk (Supervising Producer, The Bold and the Beautiful)

Casey posted various videos on Instagram over the past 24 hours, showing the fires from the CBS Studio. He recently updated the fires that had sprung up in the Hollywood Hills while driving and another update from the office showing the flames spreading out of control.

Adrienne Franz (Amber Moore, The Bold and the Beautiful)

Adrienne posted last night that she was safe but watching transformers blow and as 100mph winds were causing the fire to grow and rip through neighborhoods. She said that many of her friends had lost their homes. She wanted to put it out there to her friends and family that anyone needing shelter, stating, “I have room, I will put you up. I will make you breakfast. Call me. I will be up all night.”

Kate shared photos of her and her dog in a shelter. She thanked those who helped her and posted a notice from General Hospital. Given the nature of this week’s storyline featuring a major fire, the show decided not to air the remaining episodes as they felt it would be insensitive given the situation that was affecting so many. Kristina wrote on their announcement, “Proud to be part of a show that believes in trigger warning + thinks of others.
