What to expect on The Young and the Restless

Next week on The Young and the Restless, Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) gets his hopes up that a family game night might bring his parents closer to a reconciliation. Harrison had a great time trick-or-treating with his dad, Kyle (Michale Mealor), and mom Summer (Allison Lanier). Afterward, they returned to the Abbott mansion and spent some more time together. When Harrison came downstairs after bathing for bedtime, he spotted them on the couch, hugging. The little boy’s smile lit up the room.

Kyle and Summer didn’t know then that he saw them hugging and possibly was reading more into the moment than what it was. Since then, Claire (Hayley Erin) and Kyle have told Harrison that they’re dating, but clearly he still has hopes for his parents to reunite.

Claire, however, has more challenges than Harrison when it comes to her relationship with Kyle. Harrison adores Claire and seems to have no issues with her dating his dad. But in Claire’s home, it’s not the same. Claire’s grandfather, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), very much cares about the pairing and wants it to end. Victor ordered Kyle’s dad, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), to break them up, but he refused. But that’s not stopping Victor.

Claire, however, is fighting back. She is determined not to let history repeat itself and wants Victor to lay off her relationship. She is well aware of the interference Victor played in her mother’s relationships — to this day, he is still going after her ex-husband and father of her children, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Next week, Claire makes a plan to tackle the issue.

As for other family dynamics, there’s an explosion waiting to happen at Nate’s apartment next week. The real Damian (Jermaine Rivers) comes to find out what is really going on with Nate (Sean Dominic) and Amy (Valarie Pettiford), and he’s not too happy about the truth.
