What to expect on The Young and the Restless

After his blowout with Billy (Jason Thompson), Jack (Peter Bergman) was told he was disowned by his brother. When Jack asked if Billy was cutting him off, he also included the family, as though Billy was upset at Jack so therefore Billy would want nothing to do with anyone in the family.

Jack confided in Traci (Beth Maitland) that he and Billy had a run in. On Wednesday, Jack finds an old ornament that triggers memories of his relationship (and lack thereof) with his mother. He worries about the future with Kyle and hopes that history won’t repeat itself, as he had realized far too late in life that he held onto resentment towards Dina until just before she died.

Traci and Jack take a walk down Christmas memory lane while Traci gives her brother some advice about love, forgiveness, and family.

Claire’s new world

Claire (Hayley Erin) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) celebrate her new job as he promised when he stopped by her new office to wish her luck on her first day at Chancellor. Claire shares with him about her hopes and her fears. Usually, it’s Kyle confiding his feelings to Claire, and she supports him. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, will Claire find that Kyle gives back to her the way that she does to him? Can he be the supporting and encouraging man in her life that Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) advised he should be?

Meanwhile, Nikki has advice for Victoria (Amelia Heinle) as well. After hearing how well Claire has done working with Nikki, Victoria is pleased and proud. But she knows that Claire has had a sheltered and manipulated life. Branching out and spreading her wings so far and so quickly has Victoria alarmed. Does Nikki think she needs to be? Or does she advise Victoria not to control Claire and let her make her own mistakes?

Irreconcilable Differences

Diane (Susan Walters) thought that she and Jack had gotten Kyle back and that he understood that everything she did was to regain his trust and love. However, she is realizing now that he isn’t as convinced as she thought and is worried that Victor’s damage won’t be overcome.

If Victor got into Kyle’s head (and possibly Jack’s) so badly that she can never be fully trusted or loved by her family, she would never get over that.

Diane needs someone to understand what she is feeling, and it can’t be Jack or Kyle. On Wednesday, she is surprised to receive support from an unlikely friend.
