It’s Christmas Eve in Genoa City, and emotions are running high this holiday.

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is watching her own loved ones suffering from losing Heather (Vail Bloom), and watching them grieve during the holidays is a lot to handle. After finding out from Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Michael (Christian LeBlanc) that Sharon (Sharon Case) has a new spin on her confession, Phyllis storms over to Sharon’s. There, she’s disgusted but not surprised to see Nick (Joshua Morrow) giving all of his attention to Sharon.

Phyllis tells Sharon and her family how she feels about Sharon’s new defense. She doesn’t believe her claim that someone else was in the room when Heather was killed.

After Phyllis leaves, the Newmans find their Christmas spirit. Hopeful for their future, they sing carols, laugh with one another, and put some cheer into the holiday.

The Abbott’s Christmas

At the Abbotts, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) tackle the elf in the room. Jack shares with Kyle the key that worked for him in working through his own issues with his mother and how he found forgiveness and love and was able to change his memories of the past into ones that are fond and loving rather than full of resentment and regret. On Tuesday, Kyle and Jack have a loving Christmas Eve. When Diane joins them, emotions rise when Diane gives Kyle a meaningful gift, and one that was ripped from her heart.

Traci (Beth Maitland) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) have a Christmas celebration at Society, but are interrupted by Diane, who is looking to mend fences with Jack’s sisters. She asks if they are able to make amends. Will Traci and Ashley be able to find forgiveness for their sister-in-law?

The Romalotti’s Un-Holiday

Phyllis spreads her version of holiday cheer, taking out her frustrations about Sharon on everyone else. While she thinks she’s helping and protecting her family, her anger and rage is dampening everyone’s spirits. When she dumps on Daniel (Michael Graziadei) about Sharon’s new defense, he tells her straight.

Expect a warm holiday greeting from the cast of The Young and the Restless this year.

On Wednesday, December 25 (Christmas Day), Y&R viewers will be treated to an encore presentation of the classic episode #3252, which originally aired on December 24, 1985. New episodes of The Young and the Restless will resume on Thursday, December 26.
