Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Allison Lanier) have had a lot going on in their lives since their bitter custody battle. At one point, they couldn’t stand to be in the same room with one another, but lately, they have been getting along and are back to being warm and friendly.

Kyle has been struggling with his parents and Victor’s (Eric Braeden) betrayal and has a level of comfort with Summer. While Claire (Hayley Erin) has been able to lend an ear and has been a calming influence on Kyle, Summer knows all the players, their dynamics, and the family history.

Summer has been dealing with the devastating loss of a family member and trying to be supportive of her brother while he was wrongfully accused of murder. Now, their mom is unconscious in the hospital, and they carry guilt for not believing her. What if Daniel (Michael Graziadei) or Summer had listened to Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) about Sharon (Sharon Case)? Would they have been able to prevent the accident that put Phyllis in the hospital?

With Sharon confessing to Heather’s (Vail Bloom) murder, Summer also knows how wrong Chance (Conner Floyd) was in the investigation. How can Summer trust Chance moving forward when he didn’t protect her family and wouldn’t listen when he was wrong? His mistakes caused Daniel and Lucy so much extra pain, and now Summer’s mom is in critical condition.

Can Summer forgive Chance for his error in judgment? Or will she see it as her boyfriend choosing to protect Sharon over Phyllis and the rest of her family? She has had enough of that from her dad already.

Summer talks to both Kyle and Chance at Crimson Lights on Thursday, and she is forced to make a tough decision.

Meanwhile at the hospital, Phyllis is still unconscious and in critical condition. Elena (Brytny Sarpy) is her tending physician and is doing what she can. Elena shares her expert opinion on Wednesday, but is there any type of treatment she can offer Phyllis?

With Daniel’s charges dropped and the danger seemingly over for their family, Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) is able to come home. On Wednesday, Lucy joins Daniel and Summer at her grandmother’s hospital room to offer support, and also be able to get some herself.

Broken Hearts Club

Billy (Jason Thompson) recognizes that he has been taking some major hits. From personal attacks in the press by Adam (Mark Grossman) to Victor’s relentless plots of revenge and undermining, Abbott-Chancellor was ripped out from under Billy. Worse, his mom sold the company to Victor based on her obvious lack of faith in Billy’s ability.

That would be more than enough for Billy to handle, but he was also managing a broken heart after finding out that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam had slept together.

Old Billy would have hit the bottle and done something (or many things) as recklessly as possible, but today’s Billy recognizes that he’s spiraling and wants to be proactive to get help before he loses control. Billy turns to his big brother for help. Does he get the help he’s looking for, or does Jack (Peter Bergman) manage to make him feel worse?

Later, Billy spends time with Sally (Courtney Hope). Are they ready to explore where their relationship could be headed?
