The Young and the Restless' Nick and Sharon were once the couple who had it all. They met and fell in love in high school, married at a young age, and began raising a family. They even remained together for years, which is not standard for a soap couple.

The Young and the Restless' tragedy feels like déjà vu

In 2005, everything came crashing down around them. Their teenage daughter Cassie was killed when she got behind the wheel without a license because she didn't want to let Daniel Romalotti drive drunk. Cassie's death tore Nick and Sharon apart, leading to his affair with Phyllis and their eventual divorce.

Now, Nick and Sharon are reliving it all again. Their daughter Faith was just in a crash while rescuing Daniel's daughter, Lucy, who was drunk late at night in the park. Sharon is already having mental health issues, and nobody knows she is seeing the ghost of Cassie and her dead stalker Cameron Kirsten. Nick knows his loved ones are struggling, but he doesn't know what to do.

Nick fears for Faith and Sharon

"It’s like a parent’s worst nightmare to hear that your child’s in trouble and certainly to hear they’re in a situation where they could potentially lose their life or something that extreme," Joshua Morrow told Soap Opera Digest. "So it’s very scary, and he just has to pray and be there for his family."

Nick has already been concerned about Sharon for weeks after she seemed to have a hard time adjusting to her new bipolar medication. It has gone beyond that now, and Nick witnesses Sharon spiraling while in the hospital, worried about Faith.

"It’s obvious that she came into this already pretty fragile, and things are starting to unravel for her slowly, more every day," Morrow said. "Nick knows Sharon better than anyone and he knows what she went through the first time around with her bipolar disorder. It’s a very scary situation. He’s very concerned and scared for her."

What Nick does not know is that Sharon has been seeing Cameron, whom she killed last year when he strapped a bomb to Faith's chest. Faith does know, but only that Sharon sees him in her dreams. Nick might soon learn he has a lot more on his hands with Sharon than he originally believed.

Will this frightening experience with Faith help bring Sharon and Nick back to each other in the end? Sharon had a dream when the year began that told her she was still meant to be with Nick. Will her dream come true when all is said and done?
