What to expect on The Young and the Restless

After telling his parents things were on an upswing for Sharon’s (Sharon Case) case, Nick (Joshua Morrow) needs to update them that their archnemesis, Ian Ward (Ray Wise), is back in town — and Sharon is missing. On Friday, Victor threatens Ian.

Nick needs to find Sharon, but no one has any idea where she could be. No one, except Ian (Ray Wise) and Jordan (Colleen Zenk), that is. The evil pair have Sharon bound, gagged, and unconscious in their motel room. What happens next? This is only the first part of their plan, and Ian’s part was thwarted by Tessa (Cait Fairbanks). But he got to see and talk to Mariah (Camryn Grimes), and knowing he’s upsetting the Newmans is always a win in Ian’s books.

New Year’s Eve celebrations continue

Kyle (Michael Mealor) had stayed home to take care of Harrison (Redding Munsell), who had a cold on New Year’s Eve, while Claire (Hayley Erin) spent the evening at the ranch with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden).

He’s deep in thought about life and the future when there’s a knock on his door. Claire shows up in a top hat and wants to celebrate, and Kyle could be happier about it. The couple look forward to 2025 as they have a private celebration to ring in the new year together.

Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Summer (Allison Lanier) share a drink at the bar at the Athletic Club. Daniel’s worried about his mom. He knows how upset she is not being able to make his life better, and Sharon’s taking everyone on a confusing ride after confessing to murdering Heather (Vail Bloom) then retracting her statement and claiming there is another murderer out there.

Daniel can understand his mom’s rage — he feels it, too. On Friday, Phyllis shares a secret with Daniel. Does it help his grief, or is it something that’s only going to worry him more?

Phyllis had left the party to clear her head and prevent herself from doing something to embarrass her kids. She’s seen driving — but is it a flashback to the night she was run off the road? Does Phyllis know for sure it wasn’t Sharon driving — and if so, does she know who was?
