The Young and the Restless' Melody Thomas Scott mourns late TV Husband, Wings Hauser

Before Nikki Reed, played by Melody Thomas Scott, became Mrs. Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless, she was the wife of Greg Foster, played by Wings Hauser. That was a very different time with the top-rated show. Now, Thomas Scott is paying an emotional tribute to her former co-star and friend.

Scott pays tribute to The Young and the Restless star

"Am so sorry to learn of the passing of my dear friend, Wings Hauser. We loved working together," Thomas Scott shared on Instagram. "He played Nikki’s first husband, Greg Foster. We would walk over to Farmer’s Market together every morning to have breakfast at Dupar’s. With his script for that day always rolled up in his back pocket, I would laugh at his belief that he would learn his lines through osmosis. But it always seemed to work! We shared many powerful scenes.

"He was so talented and showed me the ropes," the actress continued. "He would bring his children, Cole and Bright, to my house on weekends and have a blast. I had the joy of spending time with his children and getting to know his family, while working closely with him at the studio every day. The show was only a half hour then, but it was magical. The beginning of the great heights that Y and R has reached. I adored him and will forever cherish his memory. RIP my friend.🙏🏻,"

More kind words for Wings Hauser

Doug Davidson (ex-Paul) weighed in with his thoughts on Hauser on Thomas Scott's tribute. "Oh nooooo. He was such a wonderful person and actor," Davidson wrote. "I am so saddened as I think about him often and our days together ❤️🙏❤️🙏 May he rest in peace and my God shower his family with His Grace."

Other Y&R actors including Lauralee Bell (Christine) and Tracey Bregman (Lauren) also expressed heartfelt emojis on Thomas Scott's Instagram post that honored Hauser.

Some lifelong Y&R fans also commented on Thomas Scott's post. They not only remember Hauser but they shared how they got started watching the CBS soap opera.

"I recall the character. Intense. Snapper’s brother. A lawyer," recalled @zevyshaell. "Watched with my nanny who gave me the lowdown at 10 yrs old!" Added @msalanalynn9: "I watched those episodes when I was a young child with my grandmother, got me hooked for life! My heartfelt condolences 🕊️."
