On The Young and the Restless, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) has a great sense of humor and a wacky history of comical stories that she sometimes shares in an entertaining way. One thing we rarely, if ever, have seen is Sally in the kitchen.
Courtney Hope, however, is another story. The actress is equally funny and likes to cook. She recently shared a hilarious recount on her Instagram stories of her recent endeavor in the kitchen and how it went sideways.

On Instagram, The Young and the Restless star Courtney Hope laughingly shared a story of how she wanted to make some cornbread. Because she was going to be super busy over the weekend and didn’t want to go to a store for the ingredients, Courtney decided to order the mix for the base online from Amazon and have it delivered instead.
The actress looked mildly sheepish as she laughed and began to tell the story of what happened next. She said that she ordered two boxes of the mix but then turned the camera to one of the opened cartons on the floor next to her. Inside were 12 boxes of the mix. Courtney hadn’t realized that what she was ordering had a dozen of the mixes inside of one large box when she only wanted two of the individual mixes. As she had ordered two of the cartons, she received 24 boxes of mix when she had only needed two.
Courtney howled with laughter as she moved the camera to show both open cartons and the dozens of cornmeal mixes inside. “Guys, I have 24 boxes!” she explained as she pulled out one. “I don’t even eat cornbread! I don’t eat it,” Courtney added with her hand on her head. “Now I will,” she added dryly with a shrug.
Courtney scolded herself for rushing without checking the fine print when placing the order. “I need to read,” she concluded, “I need to stop, and pause, and read.” She decided she’d be bringing in a lot of cornbread to work as a solution.
In her next reel, Courtney was still laughing. “I just did the math, and I’ve got 288 servings of cornbread,” she said as she chuckled so hard she could barely speak, “I’m literally dying. 288 servings?! I can’t even eat this! There’s wheat in it!”
Courtney said she never saw any indication on the item listing that she was ordering a cornbread case and not a singular box. Courtney added that she was sure it happens sometimes, but it apparently happened to her before, and she wanted to share her error.
Channeling her inner Sally Spectra
Courtney’s confusion began when the cartons arrived, and she felt the weight when she picked one up. Thinking she had forgotten what she ordered, she realized the mistake as soon as she opened the box.
Courtney broke out into laughter again as she said that she was going to be giving out cornbread over the holidays. “Everyone’s getting cornbread for their Christmas gift,” she said, chuckling to herself again at the thought.
After giving the idea some thought, she returned to the camera to clarify. “I’m going to be more specific: Everyone is getting boxes of cornbread. I do not want to cook all this,” Courtney added. She said that there were plenty of potlucks coming up and that normally she would cook something, but now she would have to bake. “I’m going to bake. Oh, I’m going to bake. God and his abundance was a little overkill,” she said, laughing again, “I said I was going to bake! I didn’t say I wanted to become a chef.”
As a follow-up, Courtney returned later after researching her ordering mistake and confirmed that she was the one who had made the error. “It was late. It was impulsive,” she explained, saying again that she hadn’t read the details on the ordering screen.
Courtney noted that she could return the boxes but decided to keep them as the thought of who she could give them to delighted her (heads up to the cast and crew of The Young and the Restless!). “The thought of sharing cornbread this holiday season just warms my heart,” she teased but coyly noted that she meant she’d only be gifting the boxes, and the recipients would have to bake the cornbread themselves.
