On The Young and the Restless, Camryn Grimes plays Mariah Copeland, daughter of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). Recently, their lives were turned upside down with Ian Ward (Ray Wise) showed up in Genoa City. Ian kidnapped Mariah at birth and raised her as his daughter, but she wants nothing to do with the villain now.

In real life, nothing could be further from the storyline for Grimes. She has shared her joy as a new mother, and other events in her life. But this week, her pride is for her father, producer Preston Lee. Grimes shared photos this weekend on her Instagram from the Sundance Film Festival and her dad talking to reporters at a press event about his new movie, Omaha.

Grimes shared a picture of a scene from the movie and captioned it, “The culmination of 30 years of hard work and dreams. I got to sit and watch my dad’s film ‘Omaha’ kick off the Sundance Film Festival yesterday. Pride doesn’t really cut it.”

According to IMDb, the film Omaha is described as, “After a family tragedy, siblings Ella and Charlie are woken up by their dad and taken on a cross-country journey, experiencing a new world. As their adventure unfolds, Ella begins to understand that things might not be what they seem.”

Camryn Grimes’ famous family

One thing some viewers of The Young and the Restless might not realize is that Camryn Grimes’ comes from a famous Hollywood family. Her father, Herbert Lee, is a writer and producer known for movies such as Encino Man, The Wizard, and now, Omaha. Her mother, Heather Grimes, is an actress, appearing in shows such as Married... with Children, Beverly Hills, 90210, and Night Stand.

Heather Grimes’ brother (Camryn’s uncle) is actor Scott Grimes, known for his roles on Party of Five, Band of Brothers, ER, and The Orville, as well as his voice characters on American Dad! and Family Guy. Scott Grimes is also a singer known for Sunset Blvd (which he co-wrote) and was on Billboard’s Top 20.

Heather and Scott’s mother, and Camryn’s grandmother, is Pam Grimes, a casting director who is perhaps best known for The Color of Evening, which starred Martin Landau and Ellen Burstyn. Camryn’s cousin (and Scott’s daughter), Madison Grimes, is also an actress, appearing in features such as Without a Trace, Pearly Gates, and Tori Amos: Taxi Ride.
