On The Young and the Restless, Scott L. Schwartz appeared several times as a character named Amos Slaughter, a bounty hunter who was hired by Jeffrey Bardwell (Ted Schackelford). Bardwell had wanted Slaughter to find his stepson, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), in 2009.

While Schwartz wasn’t known as a lead actor, he starred in many movies, ranging from comedies to action thrillers. The actor, stuntman, and former wrestler typically played characters that were gentle giants or bad guys. After his Y&R appearances, Schwartz performed in Lost in the Woods and Forbidden Zone, an action film with fellow former pro-wrestler Dave Bautista.

Schwartz’s wife, Misty, gave a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, where she shared, “Most people associate Scott with the movies, but those who know him personally associated him with being a jolly person, so full of life, a strong, loving person, foodie, and travel aficionado. Scott truly loved life and everyone that he met along the way. When he wasn’t acting, wrestling, or telling jokes, he spent his time visiting children with cancer at children’s hospitals.”

In the Ocean's movies, Schwartz played a henchman named Bruiser who is in cahoots with Danny Ocean, played by George Clooney, and Bruiser pretends to beat up Danny in the film. Schwartz was the only actor outside of the main cast to appear in all three films.

Clooney, who starred in Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, and Ocean’s Thirteen with Schwartz, wrote via Decider, “I’m sorry to hear that Scott is gone. We did three films together and I’ve never been so gently punched. He was a gentle soul and he will be dearly missed.”

Schwartz was born in Pennsylvania and attended school in Philadelphia. He began his career as a professional wrestler under the names “Giant David” and “The Israeli Commando.” He became an actor in 1991 when he appeared as a security guard in the movie Shock ‘Em Dead.

Schwartz also played the role of torturer in The Scorpion King and was in Spider-Man, The Forgotten Treasure, and Starsky and Hutch. While not as prominent, Schwartz can be seen as a store clerk in Fun with Dick and Jane and had an uncredited role as Hagrid in Epic Movie. He also had a supporting role in The Last of the Dragons with Dolph Lundgren in 1999.

Scott L. Schwartz died on November 26 at the age of 65 due to heart failure. Per Variety, he is survived by his wife, Misty; his children, Angela and Adam; his mother-in-law, Brenda; cousins, Sherry and Duwayne; his aunt, Penni, and her immediate family, Holli, Todd, and Howard.
