On The Young and the Restless, new pairings and run-ins in Genoa City have fans noticing some blatant chemistry, and have some championing for new pairings.
New love interests on The Young and the Restless

Despite who some characters are currently paired with, some fans have noticed some obvious chemistry between others, and have them mixing and matching their favorites for some new relationships.
Kyle and Summer

Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Claire (Hayley Erin) have just professed to one another that they are in love, and are talking about finding a new home for them to move in together. But this couple has some hurdles to navigate if they want to stay together. From Claire’s grandfather, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), hell-bent on breaking them up, to Audra being paid to do it, they have some formidable opponents. But while Kyle has his eyes wide open about Victor and Audra, someone else, less than subtle, has been holding a candle for her ex. Summer’s slow burn for Kyle has been consistently existent in the background, to the point that Chance (Conner Floyd) broke up with her. When the walls close in with Audra, pressure mounts for Claire, and Kyle feels the pinch on all sides, will Summer be his soft landing?
Claire and Holden

It’s hard to find a Y&R viewer who couldn’t see the smoldering vibe between Claire and Holden. Maybe it’s the martinis, but these two flirting at the bar only happened 1.5 times, and it was enough to have still fans talking. Even Nathan Owens (Holden Novak) mentioned it in a recent interview, noting that he had read fan reactions to noticing their chemistry. Fans describe Claire as coming alive when she’s around Holden — something no one has said about her and Kyle.
Damian and Phyllis

We’ve seen Damian make his intentions clear, or at least his interests, that he finds Lily attractive and would like to get to know her better. While we’re all for a new love interest for Lily, we’re not sure that Damian’s the right choice. For one, he’s too close for comfort. Being her cousin’s half-brother means everyone will know their business, and if it doesn’t work out, it’ll make holiday dinners pretty uncomfortable. We also sense that Damian has way more fire than he’s shown us so far, and in that regard, he could use someone a little more challenging. We suggest that Damian is paired with someone else who’s due for a stimulating — and healthy — relationship: Phyllis. We haven’t seen them interact yet, but we’re sure there would be sparks if they did.
Daniel and Tessa

Daniel has been lost since losing Heather, but there have been a few times when he’s naturally gravitated to Tessa for comfort and advice. This week, Daniel is reaching out to Tessa again to help him find a way to release his grief by singing the blues. Tessa teaches Daniel how to play guitar, and they talk about his feelings. As Daniel leans on Tessa, fans are wondering where this is leading. Could Tessa and Daniel develop feelings for one another that are more than friendly?
