Jermaine Rivers is Damian on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless, fans were shocked watching Monday’s episode to find out that the long-awaited arrival of Damian King wasn’t what — or rather, who — they thought at all.

On today’s episode of The Young and the Restless, Damian King came to Genoa City to find out more about a job opportunity that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) claimed to have for him at Winters. Nate had flown out of to Los Angeles to meet with Damian under the guise of headhunting for Winters but now that Damian was in town, Nate felt obligated to come clean.

When Damian asked if the job offer was real, Nate admitted that it wasn’t and that he had contacted Damian at the request of Damian’s mom, Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford). Damian immediately got upset and adamantly told Nate that he didn’t want contact with his mom. Upset about Nate’s secret, the trickery behind it, and that Nate was somehow linked to Amy, Damian walked out.

Nate wasn’t the only one with a secret. On Monday’s episode, viewers were brought into the loop of something that Damian had been hiding as well.

Be-Holden to the truth

After Damian left Nate’s, he went to the park. There, another man showed up and asked about the meeting with Nate. It was at that moment that viewers found out that Damian wasn’t Damian at all. The man we thought was Nate’s half-brother was actually Holden, and he was pretending to be the real Damian to find out what Nate really wanted.

Real Damian found out about the meeting and was completely unimpressed that his privacy had been so invaded. So what happens next with Damian and Holden, and will they both be staying in Genoa City?

We’ve known for a while about the arrival of Nathan Owens, but until now, we didn’t know he wasn’t the real Damian King. He’s kept the surprise hidden well in interviews, and although the character’s existence technically dates back four decades, fans didn’t know about him until Amy messaged Nate one day a few months ago.

The actor playing the actual Damian is Jermaine Rivers. According to IMDb, he starred in Marvel’s The Gifted, Dynasty, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Fans of Jermaine’s costar, Eric Braeden (Victor Newmam) will remember that his son, Christian Gudegast is the filmmaker behind the movie Den of Thieves — a movie that Jermaine Rivers also appeared in.

Rivers has also authored three books called “The Nemesis Chronicles.”
