DVR Alert: Special kidnapping episode of The Young and the Restless on Tuesday, Feb 25th

On The Young and the Restless, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) are in uncharted territory. For the first time, they have been kidnapped together.

Sharon and Phyllis: Abducted on The Young and the Restless

It's a first for Sharon and Phyllis to be in a scene together where they have both been kidnapped, but that's precisely what happened on Monday's The Young and the Restless episode. The last scene shows a room with two bodies slumped on the floor and as the camera zooms in, and we can see both Sharon and Phyllis are unconscious.

In tomorrow’s show, the episode is centric on Sharon, Phyllis, and what is happening during their disappearance. In an interview with TV Insider, Sharon Case and Michelle Stafford teased details of the special kidnapping episode.

Before the stars went on their Christmas break, Sharon Case (Sharon) spoke about being told by someone that Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) had mentioned that they had a storyline together when they got back from their break, and it involved kidnapping. Case remembers being confused, thinking that she had already done a kidnapping storyline during the death of Heather (Vail Bloom). Stafford thought that was funny because she had been considering the exact same thing when she heard about it, too.

The event happens when things between Sharon and Phyllis couldn't be more disharmonious. While we have learned that Sharon didn't kill Heather, that she was being drugged by Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk), and that she did frame Phyllis’ son Daniel (Michael Graziadei) for the murder.

To forgive and forget or not

It was public knowledge in Genoa City that Sharon and Phyllis were at a point of no return as far as mending fences goes when the two disappeared. Phyllis wanted Sharon to pay for her crimes and the damage done to the Romalottis; Sharon thought she should be absolved of some of the hate and animosity that Phyllis held for her.

Having shared scenes for decades, they were now getting to spend a considerable amount of time together. The whole episode that airs on Tuesday, February 25th, focuses just on the two stars. “It’s like we’re doing our own little movie over here,’” Stafford recalled Case saying during filming.

The special episode took a ton of work; the sheer amount of dialogue involved was a lot, and Case really appreciated the fact that they broke the filming schedule of over three days. “They cut it into three days; it’s hard to shoot that all in one day,” she explained.

This unique one-hour episode will focus on the two actresses trying to figure out where they are, who brought them there, and why. Michelle said, “I kept on trying not to get too literal about it, but imagine if you were kidnapped and put in a room and you had been drugged. You probably think the next thing is you’re going to be raped and murdered or tortured and chopped up, so I kept on being like, ‘Don’t we think we’re gonna die?’ So, we were playing that it is our last moment of life.”

Case says, “We felt like the characters thought, ‘Maybe we are supposed to work together.’ And sometimes they feel the opposite, that this is an every-man-for-themselves situation, which is very real. Over the course of the entire storyline, we’re put in a lot of rough situations, we go through every different kind of emotion and our relationship changes over and over.”
