Months ago, a woman named Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford) texted Nate (Sean Dominic) out of the blue. She needed to meet him and said it was an urgent family business. Nate flew out to meet her but returned more confused. Amy used to work with his father, Nathan Hastings, Sr, back when he was a private investigator with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson).

Amy and Nathan had dated, but she left town with both of them unaware that she was pregnant. By the time she found out she was having a baby, she had moved on and was in love with someone else. Amy married a man named Jackson, and they raised Damian as their own.

However, Jackson died when Damian was a teenager, leaving him angry and defiant. He and Amy would clash, and he ended up leaving home. She wouldn’t hear from him for years, and when they would reunite, their relationship was rocky. However, Amy now has a terminal illness and wants to reach her son.

She asked Nate to find Damian, tell him that he was his half-brother, and get the chance to tell her son goodbye. Nate hired a private investigator, and he was able to contact Damian. They met in Los Angeles under the guise that Nate was head-hunting him for a position at Winters.

Now that Damian has come to Genoa City for the next stage in his recruitment, Nate decided to tell him the truth about how there wasn’t actually a job, and he had only sought him out at his mother’s request.

Amy has been fearing that when Damian is found, he will want nothing to do with her. She described him as angry, and it seems their relationship could be somewhat volatile. With an already shaky foundation, she needs him to know that Jackson wasn’t actually his biological father and that Nate is his half-brother. Is that a secret Damian would forgive her for keeping?

Now in his 40s, Damian will have a lot to process. The father he adored and lost early in life will be taken from him once again when he is told the truth. And his half-brother, whom he never knew about and still doesn’t know, introduced himself with lies. Meanwhile, his mother lied to him his entire life, and all those feelings need to be processed if he wants to find peace with her before she dies.

There’s a lot there for Damian to figure out, if he’s even in interested. But Damian has many secrets of his own, starting with a mind-blowing deception that will have you seeing double when it’s revealed.
