This week on The Young and the Restless, Team Sharon made little progress, Adam got rejected, and Cole laughed at Victor’s threats. Let’s take a look at what went down in Genoa City.
Back in the Saddle Again
Victoria was showered with sweet nothings from Cole until she told him to put up or shut up. They went upstairs to Cole's hotel room, and Victoria made sure they were up to their previous standards.

Luckily for Cole, Victoria was so impressed that she thought they might be hotter now than 20 years ago. Unfortunately, that also made her wonder what Cole's been doing for the past 20 years.
Victoria and Claire had a good talk in the park about relationships, and Claire gave her mom advice she never thought she would give her. Claire said that she should put her worries aside and follow her heart.
Claire says she's generally happy to have a front-row seat to see her parents fall in love again. Not that either of them said they were in love yet, but both seem ready to head in that direction.
Daddy Issues
On the other hand, Victor is not enthused by Cole and Victoria's reunion. It turns out Victor is still bitter that Cole didn't let him go to jail for keeping Aunt Jordan as a prisoner. In fact, Victor is enraged about it.
It was hard to tell what made Victor more angry. Was it that Cole tried to help him without being asked? Or was it that Victoria dates losers? Victor actually said about his own daughter that she has spent her life falling in and out of love with a bunch of losers and schmucks and that Cole was next in line.
Cole laughed in Victor's face when Victor snarled at him. And you know Victor wasn't kidding because he said Cole's full name. Not even a "Cole-y Boy Howard," or some other nickname, just went to a straight-up, "Cole Howard, I'm warning youuuuu," to imply a promise of revenge if Cole defied him.
Cole not only told Victor that he wasn't intimidated, but he immediately went and had sex with Victor's daughter to prove it.
Pollyanna Newman
Speaking of Claire, she's on a mission to make everyone in Genoa City see life through her rose-colored glasses. She also got some relationship advice from her parents after getting her first kiss from Kyle in the park and having a real, date-like dinner with him.
Claire doesn't care about all that pesky family drama that Kyle's got going on. She wants to be the peacemaker for him and his parents.
She's close to working with her grandmother again in the family business, she's got the Newman name (instead of Howard, for some reason), and her parents are getting back together. Isn't everything just perfectly perfect? Hard to believe that not that long ago, she was helping to kidnap, poison, and kill that same family. Good thing she's changed.
Heather and Daniel continue to ruin Lucy's life
I get it that Lucy's an emotional teen who's been through some stuff lately. But if part of her problem has been that she has no friends, doesn't have a social life, and is grounded 'til kingdom come, then going on a family vacation in the middle of her mess is hardly "ruining her life."
Going one step further, Daniel doesn't want to keep having Sharon lash out at his family, so he and Heather think they should consider moving back to Portugal for a while.
Whether or not it's a bad idea, it's because of Lucy that they're even considering it. So, could she lay off the yelling and blaming all the time? That said, bratty Lucy is way more entertaining than bored, whiny Lucy, and Lily Brooks O'Briant plays her well.
Team Sharon thinks a lot
Nick, Mariah, and Faith had several more conversations about thinking of a well-thought-out plan to help Sharon. And then they thought about it some more. And then they discussed it some more. And then they observed Sharon some more. And then they thought about it some more.
They knew that Sharon missed a doctor's appointment and kept saying that she was suffering, struggling, and might not make it out of the hole she was in. Whatever shall they do? The only solution they seem to come up with is worrying and rehashing.
Finally, they decided to talk to Sharon and ask her what she wanted to do about it. But Sharon was onto them, or Cameron was, so Sharon waited until Faith was asleep then came home, packed a bag, and left.
Nick can't read a room
Out of ideas, Nick went to his family to get their advice about Sharon. Nikki, Victor, and Victoria were confused about why he thought they would care. They were also confused about why he cared about getting involved with Sharon's issues.
Victor thought a good solution was to get Nick to take Faith away from Sharon. Nick said isolating Sharon in her time of need probably wouldn't help her.
Nick wondered why he thought he couldn't rely on them when needed. Victor said that's what family is for, and they all agreed. Nick said he had a new plan. He would talk to Sharon, and then talk to Mariah and Faith, and Team Sharon would come up with an effective strategy.
Nikki, Victoria, and Victor all thought that was the best solution and sent Nick on his way.
The Great Madison Goose Chase
Sharon took off overnight and tried to cover her tracks. She left Faith a message saying she went to Madison, and she claimed to be having a meeting that Mariah was scheduled for. Sharon checked into a hotel online to make it look like she was staying at a Madison hotel, but she was really in a motel with Cameron.
I'm not sure where Cameron was when Sharon made all these travel plans, but he wasn't too pleased with her once they settled into their room. He told her that she was dumb, and her family would probably figure it all out.
Sure enough, Mariah came to Madison to look for Sharon. After a couple of phone calls, Mariah knew Sharon was lying and called her out. Sharon admitted that she wasn't in Madison but wasn't coming home yet, either.
Cameron told Sharon to use her "me time" wisely and start making her evil plans.
It's an alliance, not a partnership
Phyllis accepted Billy's job offer and all of its conditions. She promised him that she was all in and memorized the rules of conduct.
Then she forgot all about them when she followed him to Crimson Lights and talked all over him while he tried to meet with Lily. But what she said wasn't wrong, and the public display of solidarity was hard to criticize, so Billy forgave her misstep.
Later, she did it again at Society when she and Billy ran into Adam and Chelsea. Billy had made it clear—twice—that his personal life was not to be discussed, but Phyllis couldn't help herself. Surprisingly, Billy didn't get mad and instead confided that Chelsea had cheated.
Phyllis turned out to be a great friend in that moment. She got to the crux of it and encouraged Billy to forgive Chelsea. She passed no judgment and was just there for him. Phyllis seems to really have Billy's back. This takeover might take a while to play out, but hopefully, Phyllis will continue to be Billy's loyal friend and business partner when no one else in town will.
Billy's only other friend
Victoria devised an idea for her parents to buy Abbott-Chancellor instead of taking it over. She told them that as her kids' grandparents, they should probably not humiliate and destroy the children's father.
Victor and Nikki didn't care. They want revenge on Billy for breaking Victoria's heart at one point—but I thought this was about preserving Katherine's legacy. By the way, Chancellor Industries is actually Jill's legacy, Jill's company, and Jill's right to put Billy in charge. And trying to steal it while Jill's trying to battle a heart condition is ruthless, even for Victor.
So, Victoria tried to get her parents to change their minds by saying that she would either convince Billy to accept their buyout deal that doesn't exist, or she would tell him about their plans for a takeover.
Sheepish isn't a good look
Lily might have bitten off more than she can chew. She's aligned with Victor and committed collusion, and she could wind up back in prison if she doesn't watch herself.
Surprisingly, Billy showed compassion and warned her not to go down the road she's most definitely on. But instead of listening to him, Devon, or Nate, her ego was out of control. While she smugly claimed that Billy was too arrogant to know what was about to hit him, she was the one who got hit with a truth bomb.
You could hear an audible gulp when Billy called her out for sinking so low. Lily is being everything she's accusing Billy of right now.
Elsewhere in Genoa City
Daniel had enough of Sharon's mood swings and public outbursts. He concluded that he'll never be able to make that woman happy as long as he's alive. Oh, if only he knew.
Chelsea reminded Billy that she was waiting for him to change his mind, but he wasn't interested, even though she had brought him cookies.
Connor suggested to his parents that they were better off together than with other people. Adam agreed, but Chelsea thought it was a disaster the last time they lived together as a family. Chelsea didn't understand why neither remembered that.
Adam ignored Chelsea saying she wanted Billy back, even though she said it repeatedly, and he made a play for his ex—in front of her ex. She stormed out of Society and told him to leave her alone. The week ended with Billy calling Adam a sociopath and a son of a bitch and demanding to know what he did to Chelsea.
I admit, I’ve seen Monday’s show, and all I can tell you is do not miss the beginning—it starts off with a bang!
