Lily bumped into Lauren at the jazz club. Lily told Lauren about the meeting she'd had with Nikki and that she was about to meet with Victor. Lauren applauded Lily for her success at Chancellor and advised her that Victor could be a little cagey. “Family comes first to Victor, business or not, and he expects loyalty, family or not,” Lauren said.

Victor walked into the Athletic Club as Billy was heading out, and the two men took jabs at each other. Victor said Billy was delusional to think he could play with the big boys, and Billy told Victor they were equals. Victor shot back that Billy’s gambling had cost his family their yacht, and Victor said that Billy would run Abbott-Chancellor into the ground.

Summer saw Chance at Crimson Lights and told him they had a reason to celebrate later, but she wouldn’t hint what it was about.

In the park, Chelsea implored Sally not to give up on Adam. Chelsea reiterated how she and Adam had made a mistake, but Chelsea knew that Adam loved Sally and didn’t want to lose her. Chelsea reminded Sally that Adam struggled with right and wrong, as he was always worried about being abandoned. Sally said Chelsea just wanted to feel less guilty about her role in the breakup, but Chelsea said it wasn’t about her.

Chelsea told Sally that Adam deserved to be loved the way that Sally loved him. Sally was not impressed that Chelsea was Adam’s champion. Sally told Chelsea that Billy had divulged that Adam and Chelsea had cheated on him before. Adam overheard as Sally said that the only way she could guarantee that Adam couldn’t hurt her again was if she never had anything else to do with him.

When Sally saw Adam approach, she told him that he and Chelsea needed to figure things out, and Sally walked away. Chelsea wanted to know what that meant, but Adam lied and said he had no idea. Adam wanted Chelsea to believe that Billy would never forgive her. Chelsea said she was letting Billy have the space he'd asked for, and she was not giving up hope. “That night never should have happened, and we both know it. From this moment on, we will not discuss it again,” Chelsea said firmly.

At Abbott-Chancellor, Billy met with Chance, who was upset to learn that Billy had fired Lily. Chance asked if Lily had admitted that she had been using Billy and had planned to backstab him. Billy said she had not said it, but he'd seen it in her eyes when he'd accused her. Chance said that Billy was ruthless for turning on Lily without proof. Chance compared the corporate world to a real war and said that if Billy went into a battle thinking he would lose, then the cost would be more than he could imagine.

Billy said Chance sounded like he was ready to jump ship. Chance was undecided but said he was concerned that if Billy was willing to turn on Lily, someone that Billy respected and was close to, then Chance wondered what stopped him from turning on Chance. Billy shrugged and said, “Nothing. Just don’t give me a reason to.”

Billy explained to Chance that he needed loyal people who wanted to be part of the team, so they could turn the company into a powerhouse. “I’m not going to let anyone stop me from doing that,” Bill added. Chance said Billy seemed rattled, and Chance wondered if Billy’s anger stemmed from feeling betrayed by Lily. Billy told Chance he felt betrayed by everyone.

At Society, Summer, Lauren, and Chloe were at a meeting about the Marchetti Z launch, and Sally arrived late. Sally was distracted, so the other women asked if she was okay. Sally assured them that she was focused on work. Later, when Sally and Chloe were alone, Sally told Chloe that she and Adam had broken up, but she didn’t reveal why. Sally assured Chloe that her attention was on the launch.

Lily told Victor that Billy had fired her. “He accused me of being his partner to gain his trust so that I could eventually push him out,” Lily said. Victor asked Lily if Billy was correct. Lily admitted that he was, and Victor laughed. Lily said it hadn’t been an easy decision to use Billy, but Jill had offended her by putting Billy in charge when Lily was responsible for Chancellor’s success. Lily said she knew Jill had other priorities, but Billy was impulsive, undisciplined, and arrogant.

Lily said she'd invested too much to walk away from the company, and she was dedicated to honoring Katherine’s legacy. Lily told Victor that she knew from his conversation with Devon that Victor wanted to take over Chancellor. “If you’re planning a takeover, I want to help,” Lily said. She added that she wanted to take Chancellor back and restore it to a company that Katherine would be proud of. “I believe you and I can do that together,” Lily said.

“If I understand you correctly, you want me to help you take down Billy Abbott?” Victor asked. When Lily said yes, Victor smiled. Victor asked Lily what she wanted in return, and Lily told him she wanted her position at Chancellor Industries back. Victor told her that he would think about it.
