House Hunter: The Young and the Restless fans wonder why Summer hasn't bought her house yet

On The Young and the Restless, fans wonder what happened to Summer’s plans to buy a house. Did she ever intend to? Is this an oversight or something more?

Sometimes, on soaps even ones as glorious as The Young and the Restless, there are plots or things said that never get revisited, and fans wonder why something hasn't happened yet and if the writers simply didn't carry that plot element on any further. This is the case with Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) and her plans—or now nonexistent plans — to buy a house for her and her son, Harrison (Redding Munsell), to live in.

Fans and viewers went to Soap Central website and visited the message boards to make their comments and opinions known.

Whatever happened to Summer's house-buying plans on The Young and the Restless?

Soap Central reader mikey3130 wrote, "Remember when Summer was going to buy a house for her and Harrison? Now that Kyle is not in the market anymore, that idea has seemed to go by the wayside. Makes one wonder if she had ulterior motives all along."

Nightrocker wondered the same thing, saying, "Maybe she can only afford a Foxhole for Zipper the Fox."

Sara_in_BC commented, "I think the house idea was related to her seeking custody!”

Dedicatedsoaper also wondered if this was all about Kyle. "It also happened the same time Kyle said he was going to look for a house...Perhaps she was only trying to one-up him."

Montauk.way had another suggestion. "Summer should move into the Abbott pool house. Maybe she'll do so for security, if Phyllis is missing long enough."

Saint_want-tobe also found the situation amusing. "I know everyone is a top exec but the non-ending hotel bills and dining out are laughable. Even Victor and Jack have houses."

Does Summer even need to buy a house? Maybe Victor will buy her one. Maybe Victor will buy the home directly beside the Abbott mansion and put Summer up there so that she and Harrison can be close to Kyle and his parents. What ex-girlfriend wouldn't want to be next to her ex and his new girlfriend? Close enough in fact to hear them tell each other that they love each other every night.

Either way, it's not a big enough detail that we should worry about. After all, where are Sharon and Phyllis? That's the big question I want answered: Who is the voice? What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comment section below.
