On The Young and the Restless, Michael Damian plays the role of world-renowned rock star Danny Romalotti. It's a role he originated in 1981.
On the show, Danny began his music career at 16 years old. He would perform concerts in and around Genoa City and was sometimes accompanied by his sister, Gina (Patty Weaver), or his friends Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman), and Amy Lewis (Stephanie E. Williams). The role of Amy was recently recast; Valarie Pettiford will be joining the cast as Amy next month).

This year, The Young and the Restless' Danny and Christine (Lauralee Bell) have been traveling the world as part of Danny's international concert tour. Viewers saw them meet with Traci and Alan when they had a stop in Paris. When Danny's tour took him to Los Angeles last month, he and Christine visited the Forresters in a crossover to The Bold and the Beautiful.
Lauralee Bell, who plays Christine, recently posted a photo of her on set with Conner Floyd (Chance), Michael Graziadei (Daniel), and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis). Bell commented. "Tour life was amazing but one of us had to get back to Genoa City life!! So happy to be back with the gang! Now Danny needs to wrap up the tour soon and get back too!"
With Danny's family realizing that Heather (Vail Bloom) is missing, Christine may have come to town to help. If Heather's body is discovered, Danny may have to cancel his tour to come home to comfort his son, Daniel, and granddaughter, Lucy (Lily Brooks O'Brien).
Where is Michael Damian from The Young and the Restless?
In real life, Michael Damian also tours the world as a performer. His first release was "She Did It," a remake of singer-songwriter Eric Carmen's 1977 song. He has eight top 40 hits from five albums. Damian's #1 single "Rock On" earned him his first gold record. He performed the song on The Young and the Restless at the time of its release. More recently, he sang the remix during his crossover to The Bold and the Beautiful.
Fans will recall seeing Damian in the Garry Marshall movie Young Doctors in Love. He also had a recurring role on NBC's The Facts of Life. Damian also starred in (and earned a Grammy nomination for) the Broadway musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Damian co-wrote and co-produced with his wife, Janeen, and made his directorial debut with the comedy feature film Hot Tamale. He also wrote and directed Fox's family dramedy Moondance Alexander.
The couple also collaborated on Falling For Christmas, a film that Damian proudly told Soap Opera Digest is "still one of the most popular Netflix movies of 2022." In March 2024, Netflix debuted the romantic comedy Irish Wish, starring Lindsay Lohan. The flick was produced by Damian and directed by Janeen. Damian wrote a song called "Wild Irish Heart," which is in the movie.
Damian is a producer for the upcoming Netflix film The Wrong Paris. The movie is directed by his wife, Janeen, and stars Miranda Cosgrove and Pierson Fodé.
