We had 13,000 reasons to love Y&R even more this week when Abby and Devon got married, Sharon confessed, and two villains teamed up for double the trouble in Genoa City.

Victor’s week of surprises

When everyone said that Victor was a go-big-or-go-home type of guy, they had no idea. Victor pulled out all the stops for some and pulled out the rugs from under the people around him this week.

Victor started with the wedding venue. For weeks, Victor wouldn’t tell anyone his big surprise of having the original ranch house rebuilt, but once it was, more shocks followed.

When Victoria suggested Victor buy Chancellor, he was against it. But that was long forgotten when he slid a piece of paper across his desk to Jill with a “big number” on it.

Jill actually sold it to him, which surprised all of us but devastated Billy. Is this the beginning of Billy falling off the wagon and having another visit by a ghost on Christmas Eve? Or will he be more determined than ever to build his legacy ground up? Sally, of course, was there to listen and be the supportive voice of reason when all the guy wanted to do was drink himself into oblivion. At least he won’t have a hangover.

The ironic thing is that it wasn’t Victor who humiliated Billy with defeat — it was his mom. Jill didn’t even wait for Billy even to come close to running the company into the ground. She just told him he’d probably screw up and fired him. And what a way to do it! Jill lied, kept it all a secret, kept moving the goalpost and just made him feel like he couldn’t do anything right even when he did. It was so unnecessary to be handled like that. I thought Jill would come back and be taking names, but instead, she threw Billy AND Lily under the bus.

When Diane suggested that Victor give her control of Glissade, we knew he would. Another way to stick it to Jack? Of course he would. But now what? Is there some soapy corporate law that if Diane’s the CEO and they stole the formula, she’ll be the one going down for it? Will she have to pay the price for what Kyle did? Would we care?

We just kidding, son

As suspected, Jack and Diane were just acting all that fighting in public nonsense and their humiliating bouts were just a way to show Kyle that Victor was who they said he was.

Kyle's reaction was pretty much on point with what we expected. Anger, rage, snide, sneer, find Claire and get a band-aid. And, scene.

The wedding of her dreams

Abby got her big day in the biggest way possible, well, kinda sorta. The venue of her dreams turned out to be her dad’s living room, and her wedding was used as a grand re-opening house party.

But it was lovely, and all of the geotag-carrying guests arrived, except a notable few family members like her niece, Faith, who went out with friends instead, and her brother, Adam. Yep, half-related, but related nonetheless.

Instead, Esther entertained with her jabs at Jill, and there was puh-lenty of side drama going on. Between Lily flipflopping between smile flashes and longfacing, and the foyer now being a soundproof room for pulling someone aside to tell devastating news, the bride and groom had no idea there was anything else going on except their nuptials.

Even the near-fatal accident outside and guests leaving early in groups with devastated looks on their faces didn't interrupt the fun.

Asleep at the wheel

Just when we were convinced that Sharon was going to wake up from this nightmare (and take us along with her), she fell asleep again. Honestly, when she called Nick and asked him to come over, I didn’t think she’d confess. I thought he’d tell her that he had to get to the hospital, and by then, Cameron would’ve talked her down.

But holy smokes, she did it! And did you notice that during that entire confession, Nick didn’t say one word? Not one question, not one word spoken, his expression said it all.

Not until the end when he did…wait…what??? We got a confession, and she’s offering proof, and she knows details that only she could possibly know, and now Nick is a confession denier?

For a brief moment, I thought he was going to whisk her off to Sedona to avoid the truth but instead, Sharon made Nick be the one to call Chance. “I might break down if I do it,” she says. Girl, look in the mirror, your mascara is down to your chin. I think we’re beyond breaking down here. But good on him, Nick called Chance moments before Faith came in and got hysterical and Sharon became the creepily calm one.

There’s a doctor in the house

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Phyllis is comatose. Sharon always complained no one couldn’t shut her up and just look at her now. Sharon finally confessed, and Phyllis wasn’t even awake to say, “I told you so.”

But Elena’s back to be her physician and since she’s capable of medical miracles, all should be good, right?

Of course, there’s only so much Elena can do, and from what we’ve seen for next week, her diagnosis is to do nothing and wait. A ‘wait and see’ attitude has never been applied to Phyllis, so maybe she’ll cause her own chaos from the hospital room, unconscious or not.

Is that…whatttt….why are they together?

And then came the shockaroo of the season, when we saw good ol’ Aunt Jordan, sans disguises, let herself into a motel room and announce that everything went according to plan.

Lo and behold, who turns around smiling like the Cheshire cat but Ian freakin’ Ward. Bum, bum, bummmmm….dramatic pause. What on earth is going on there??

THAT’s who killed Heather? Why and how are they involved in anything, and how was driving Phyllis off the road part of the plan? And how do they fit into Sharon’s dream sequence, or do we have to change that theory now? I can't figure out where they're going with that, let alone how it all ties in.

So many questions, and while I was never a huge fan of Jordan’s over-theatrics, I’m kinda stoked that Ian’s back. Instead of a new psycho killer to get to know, we’ve got someone with a lot of history already, and coupled with Jordan, that’s a diabolical mix.

Not to mention, Ashley is back! Happy about that but still wondering what is up with Alan and if he is his evil twin, Martin. And if that’s the case, Martin, Jordan, and Ian in town would be a heavy load of crazy all in one place.

Until next time!
