The Young and the Restless plans a very special celebration for 30 years of Joshua Morrow as Nick

Joshua Morrow is about to mark a major milestone on The Young and the Restless.

On June 21, 1994, Victor and Nikki Newman's son experienced the soap opera phenomenon known as Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome -- or SORAS for short -- and returned to Genoa City from boarding school as a teenager ready to attend high school in his hometown. When he did, a young actor named Joshua Morrow debuted in the role and he has remained a part of the Y&R scene ever since.

To pay tribute to both Morrow and his unlucky-in-love alter-ego Nick, Y&R is planning a very special stand-alone episode for his anniversary day on June 21. Expect lots of flashbacks and memories from the last three decades of Nick's always-complicated life.

"Just the fact that they would be willing to do something like that made me feel very proud," Morrow told TV Guide (per Soaps In Depth). "It hits you what an incredible ride this has been. I feel like I'm not worth it, like I'm going to wake up and this has all been a dream."

When he first landed the role, it wasn't lost on Morrow how important the character was to the Y&R canvas, as well as who his parents were.

"It's almost unfair," he said. "They're literally icons. They're like family to me and I love and respect them so much. I really did fall into the best situation imaginable for a young actor."

Morrow also marveled at the fact that he has lasted so many years at one job, something he never dreamed of as a teenager.

"If you would have told me when I was a sophomore in high school in Oklahoma just playing football, 'You will have a had a 30-year career on a television show,' I would have thought you were joking," Morrow said. "It's an incredible accomplishment and one I never take for granted."

Within months of landing the role of Nick, Morrow found himself as one-half of a popular pairing when Nick fell in love with classmate Sharon Collins. The two married at a young age and raised a family together before a tragic accident claimed the life of their teenage daughter. Sharon and Nick broke up, but fans have been clamoring for a permanent reunion ever since. Will Nick's special hour of memories result in him having an epiphany about his life with Sharon -- and whether they still have a future?
