Christel Khalil teases a new Lily on The Young and the Restless

When Christel Khalil returns to The Young and the Restless on March 13, Lily will get the shock of her life.

Christel Khalil makes her The Young and the Restless comeback as Lily returns to Genoa City only to find her boyfriend having a happy family meal with Heather and Lucy. The scene will look like Daniel and Heather never split and Lily never came back in his life. What she sees throws Lily for a loop, but what happens after that will rock her world.

Khalil, who gave birth to her second son in December and has been on maternity leave the last few months, told TV Insider that Lily expected Heather to want Daniel back, but Daniel's actions leave her stunned. She never thought he'd sleep with Heather and then not even tell her.

"She knew that Heather was interested in Daniel and that she probably would want to be back together with him, but I don't think she thought that Daniel would also want to be back together with Heather," Khalil said. "She finds out from Daniel what's going on and I think she's at first just in shock. She's hurt by what happened, but also trying to be really levelheaded about everything. As time goes on, it hits her more and more, how horrible it really all was."

Lily had come off a breakup with Billy when she allowed Daniel back into her life. He was her first love and believed they had found their way back to one another, and that this time, their relationship would work. Then, she left town for a few months to be with her daughter, Mattie, and came home to learn Daniel had betrayed her.

So, what will Lily do now that she has to pick up the pieces of her love life all over again? Well, she certainly won't take the news of Daniel's betrayal lying down, according to Khalil.

"She's taking charge," the actress said. "I think people are going to see a different side of Lily. There's going to be a lot of drama for sure, but it's going to be fun to see something that people haven't really seen before when it comes to Lily and how she deals with things."
