Mishael Morgan is back for another Y&R visit

Daytime Emmy winner Mishael Morgan is returning to The Young and the Restless.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in the era of social media, a video is worth a thousand likes. With no fanfare, Daytime Emmy winner Mishael Morgan announced that she is returning to The Young and the Restless.

In an Instagram post featuring Taylor Swift's "...Ready For It?" the camera slowly panned the camera to an item hanging on a rack in the Y&R wardrobe department. A tag hanging from the garment -- which appears to be a formal dress -- read "Mishael Morgan 'Amanda.'" A smiling Morgan then popped into frame and waved to the camera.

In the caption area, Morgan wrote, "Guess who's popping in for a visit!!!"

Fans weren't the only ones to react with celebratory emoji and "yay!"s. Several of Morgan's co-stars also shared their excitement. "Love our Amanda/ Abby dynamic," Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) responded along with three red hearts. Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) also added three hearts to her "Yay!" reply.

In 2022, Morgan made history as the first Black woman to win the Outstanding Lead Actress trophy at the Daytime Emmys.

Morgan made her Y&R debut in June 2013 as Hilary Curtis. Five years later, the actress stunned fans by walking away from the show. She returned to Y&R in September 2019 to play Amanda Sinclair, a character that turned out to be Hilary's theretofore-unknown twin sister. Morgan remained with the show through 2022, when she announced that she "wanted to take a bit of a step back from the show." She returned briefly in 2023 to help mark Y&R's 50th anniversary.

"Playing two characters [Amanda and previously her twin sister, Hilary] and coming on the show was a challenge, but it was one that I was excited to take on, and I'm glad that it paid off. It was really hard thinking about how I was going to play a strong Black woman in a different way and not make her seem the same and make her seem fresh and different and have connections with these same people that I've been working with five, six years prior. But it was exciting, and it reminded me why we do this," Morgan said after accepting her Daytime Emmy. "We love to play, and we love to tell stories, and we love to become new people and transcend and send our messages out into the world.

The Young and the Restless has yet to issue comment on Morgan's post, so a first airdate isn't yet known. Stay tuned to Soap Central because we'll share it as soon as it's announced.
