Y&R alum Alyvia Alyn Lind nabs "heavily recurring role" in The Spiderwick Chronicles

Alyvia Alyn Lind continues to stay booked and busy. The Y&R alum recently wrapped on the USA/Syfy series Chucky and has just been cast in an upcoming fantastical, live-action series for Disney+.

Daytime Emmy nominee Alyvia Alyn Lind (ex-Faith Newman) has been cast in a "heavily recurring role" in The Spiderwick Chronicles. The live-action series, based on a series of bestselling books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, will stream on Disney+.

The series is described as a contemporary American gothic coming-of-age story that addresses kids and families dealing with mental health issues among other relevant topics. It follows twin brothers who move with their family to the rundown Spiderwick Estate in Michigan and find themselves in an alternate, fantastical world.

Lind will portray "a perfectly normal girl" named Calliope, but according to Deadline, "that is only her exterior. She is in fact a Fetch (a portent of death) who has taken this disguise to be able to stay close to the evil ogre, Mulgarath (Christian Slater), and assist in his quest to find Spiderwick's Field Guide." The series will also star Lyon Daniels, Noah Cottrell, Mychala Lee, Joy Bryant, and Momona Tamada.

Lind played the role of Faith Newman on The Young and the Restless from 2011 to 2021. She received a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Younger Actress category in 2017 and two additional nods in the rebranded Outstanding Young Performer category in 2021 and 2022. She most recently played the role of Lexy Cross on the USA/Syfy series Chucky. She is also known for portraying country legend Dolly Parton in Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors and the follow-up Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, Future Man, and Daybreak.
