The Young and the Restless' Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) is getting in on the podcast game with The Soap Opera Survival Guide, a show in which she will interview other daytime actors.
Hot on the heels of her 25th anniversary at The Young and the Restless, Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) has announced some very exciting news: she's launching a podcast!
The star shared details of her new venture in an Instagram video, which she began with lots of thanks to everyone who joined the celebration of her Y&R anniversary.
"I wanted to thank you all for your amazing well wishes on 25 years. It was truly incredible and definitely a moment of reflection and gratitude," the actress said, adding that her on-set party was truly spectacular. "Josh [Morrow, Nicholas Newman] spoke, Sharon [Case, Sharon Newman] spoke, Cait [Fairbanks, Tessa Porter] spoke, and it was really, really beautiful. My family got to be there, which made it all the more special."

After sharing her gratitude, Grimes moved on to her big announcement, a venture she explained was "to kinda light a fire under my own ass... [and to] hold myself accountable to you guys so I can just get it done and hopefully launch in the summer."
And what is it that she is hoping to launch? Grimes teased that she wasn't going to say the words until "I see some drumroll emojis!!" Which was followed by the big news: "I'm launching a podcast!"
Aware that there are a lot of podcasts out there (even Y&R's Billy currently has one!), the actress joked that eye rolling would probably commence. But then she went on to explain her reasoning behind launching her show, which will be titled The Soap Opera Survival Guide.
"[I want the podcast] to be a little reprieve," she shared. "The world is a really tough and confusing place for a lot of us, and this is my way to give back and maybe just give you guys an hour of fun and frivolity once a week."
As for the content, Grimes will be interviewing a different actor from daytime (and possibly even non-actors) in each episode. "The goal is to have really raw, really intimate, no-holds barred conversation[s]," she said. "I want to ask the questions that they don't get asked that they want asked. I want to help them promote their projects and I just want to talk. I want to talk about what life is like being on a soap opera and the little tidbits they've learned and brought into their own life."
She continues, "I have grown up on a soap opera, and I know that there are plenty of seemingly unrealistic but very realistic lessons that can be applied to our own personal lives from soap operas. And I know that they influence you guys, and you guys love them so much! So, that's why it's called The Soap Opera Survival Guide!"
Grimes adds that though she and her colleagues "love the soap magazines... we want this to be deep, we want this to be personal, we want to get [into] the nitty-gritty."
Grimes is currently working on hiring a producer and an editor, as well as choosing a space to record the podcast. Her current plan is to launch The Soap Opera Survival Guide on the subscription platform Patreon, and she will donate a portion of the proceeds to a different charity every month.
