Newcomer Rory Gibson tapped as The Young and the Restless' new Noah Newman

The Newman population in Genoa City is about to grow by one. Noah Newman is headed back to Wisconsin with newcomer Rory Gibson taking over the role last played by Robert Adamson.

Noah Newman will soon be headed back to The Young and the Restless, but when he does, he will look a little different than what fans may remember.

Rory Gibson has been cast as Noah, the son of Y&R legacy characters Nick and Sharon Newman. Of course, that means that Gibson's new alter ego is tied to quite a few of the key players in Genoa City. Victor Newman, anyone?

While this will mark Gibson's first daytime role, he has previous acting experience in the made-for-television movies A Night to Regret and Twisted Twin. Ironically, both of those title can often be used to describe some of the soapier daytime action. He also appeared in the films Grace and Severed Road.

Gibson will be the fourth actor to play Noah in the last decade. Luke Kleintank held the role from September 2010 to April 2011. He was followed by Kevin Schmidt, who had previously played Noah from 2008 to 2010, from April 2011 to August 2012. Most recently, Robert Adamson played Noah from October 2012 through 2016. From 2016 onward, Adamson appeared on a recurring basis. Adamson made his last appearance as Noah on September 7, 2020.

On one of Noah's visits to Genoa City in early 2020, he mentioned he had a gallery showing of his photography in New York -- and a new girlfriend. It's unclear if that girlfriend might also find her way to Genoa City in the weeks and months ahead. As for when Noah returns, a first airdate has not yet been given. However, the show says that it will be "later this fall."
