Eileen Davidson is happy to be back at The Young and the Restless, but she says that contrary to a rumor, she will only be wearing Ashley Abbott's shoes for a short while.
Daytime fans always love to see Eileen Davidson on their screens, so it's certainly happy news that she is back in the role of The Young and the Restless' Ashley Abbott. But the actress reveals that there is a myth about her return that just simply isn't true.
In a post made to social media over the weekend, Davidson debunks a rumor (reportedly started by a soap journalist) that she has signed on to Y&R for more than just a few episodes.
"I am happy to be coming back to Y and R to do a few shows but I am not coming back full-time!" she shares.

As Soap Central previously reported, Y&R head writer Josh Griffith gave a fall preview in which he said that Davidson's Ashley would be joining her siblings, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Traci (Beth Maitland), in a storyline centering around the decline of Dina's (Marla Adams) health as she continues to struggle with Alzheimer's disease. "They try to solve a mystery from Dina's past as a final gift," Griffith revealed in the interview. "It's a terrific family-bonding story."
As Y&R fans saw, Davidson appeared in Dina-related scenes the week of August 10. It's unclear at this time if she is scheduled for more. Rumor has it there is an Ashley-centric storyline coming up, but as Davidson points out in her social media post, you can't always trust what you read! Therefore, fans will have to wait and see just what the powers that be have in store for Ashley in the weeks ahead.
Davidson originally joined Y&R in 1982 and has been playing Ashley on-again, off-again since. She also starred on Days of our Lives as Kristen DiMera.
How do you feel about Eileen Davidson returning to Y&R for just a handful of episodes? Were you hoping that Ashley would be back full-time? Why or why not?
