It looks like fans of The Young and the Restless can look forward to some very interesting material ahead that includes Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) and other "known characters."
The Young and the Restless has been catching a lot of flak these past few months for putting too much focus on newer characters and not keeping its vets front and center. But according to longtime cast member Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), that's all about to change.
The iconic soap star took to Twitter on Monday with a message that has fans seriously freaking out -- in a good way! He wrote, "Lot of interesting stuff coming up on Y&R involving a cast of known characters," and fortunately for viewers, that included him!

Fan reaction to Braeden's intriguing storyline tease was swift, ranging from comments like, "'I'll be damned!' It's about time! Hooray!" to "I can't wait! Victor putting ppl in their place!"
Braeden's 40th anniversary with Y&R is slated to happen this year, and speculation is brewing that the "interesting stuff" Braeden mentions could be a celebration of his four decades playing Genoa City's love-to-hate patriarch.
The last star to celebrate a big anniversary at Y&R was Peter Bergman, who began playing the role of Jack Abbott in November of 1989. In honor of his three decades in Genoa City, the soap gave Jack a special stand-alone episode, and Bergman was featured in CBS Watch! magazine. So far, Y&R hasn't announced how it plans to celebrate Eric Braeden's 40th anniversary playing Victor Newman, but bets are the celebration will be a big one.
What do you think about Braeden's Twitter tease about the "interesting stuff" headed viewers' way? What would you like to see for Victor in the months ahead? How would you like to see the CBS soap celebrate Eric Braeden's 40th anniversary? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
