Soap opera fans have had the pleasure of watching The Young and the Restless' Sharon Case (Sharon Newman) for a quarter of a century. Here's to a quarter more!
A sweet 18-year-old named Sharon Collins moved to Genoa City in the fall of 1994, and The Young and the Restless has never been the same. Portrayer Sharon Case instantly became a fan favorite, and both viewers and the show are now celebrating the 25th anniversary of her work bringing audiences drama, inspiration, intrigue, and plenty of soapy romance.
"Today we celebrate 25 years of the amazing @sharonlcase on #YR!" the CBS soap opera tweeted on Saturday. "Join all of us at The Young and the Restless in congratulating her on her anniversary."

No one has captivated soap opera audiences quite like Case, who, in her 25 years on Y&R, has managed to make Sharon one of the most loved characters in daytime as well as one of the most hated characters in daytime. The character has had romances with everyone from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and his sons, Adam (Mark Grossman) and Nicholas (Joshua Morrow), to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton). Sharon has also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, has mothered several children, and has held many jobs, including co-owner of the Crimson Lights coffeehouse, vice president of research and development at Newman Enterprises, and spokesperson for NVP Retreats, Newman Enterprises Cosmetics Division, and Jabot Cosmetics. More recently, she has tried to better herself by going back to school and becoming a crisis counselor.
As for being a part of the Y&R family for such a long time, Case says she wouldn't have it any other way.
"I love working here more and more every year," she told Soap Central on the occasion of her 24th anniversary. "It's a long time to be here, but if I all of a sudden weren't here anymore, I would feel somehow that I still didn't get enough, like it wasn't long enough."
Prior to joining Y&R, Case appeared as General Hospital's Dawn Winthrop and As the World Turns' Debbie Simon. Her additional credits include Doogie Howser, M.D., Beverly Hills, 90210, Valley of the Dolls, and an appearance as herself on a 2014 episode of Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen.
