New role for Y&R's Angell Conwell

BET's upcoming series Bigger boasts a great cast that includes The Young and the Restless alum Angell Conwell (ex-Leslie Michaelson).

Fans of former The Young and the Restless star Angell Conwell (ex-Leslie Michaelson) will want to download the BET+ streaming service as soon as it becomes available, because the popular actress has joined its inaugural series Bigger, which premieres on Thursday, September 19.

From executive producer Will Packer, Bigger follows a single black woman who is dealing with the threat of marriage to a boring-in-bed boyfriend and the sudden, random death of a college acquaintance. The tragedy drives her ambitious group of friends to take a deeper look at their stagnant lives, asking themselves, Is there something bigger and better in life?

Conwell's character is Veronica Yates, a woman who, according to Deadline, carries herself with genuine confidence and knows how to make heads turn. Her real-estate business has been doing well, leaving her in an excellent position to be the advice-giver in her group of friends. Viewers will see Veronica encouraging her friend Layne (Tanisha Long) to have a little fun while she's still young.

Other cast members of Bigger include Rasheda Crockett, Terrence Terrell, Tristen J. Winger, and Chase Anthony. Fans can check out some behind-the-scenes photos and a video posted by Conwell below.

Conwell played Y&R's Leslie from 2010 to 2014, with a few return appearances in 2015 and 2016. She returned again in 2019 for the tribute episodes penned in honor of Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters). As fans may recall, Leslie was briefly engaged to Neil shortly before he began heavily drinking. She later left Genoa City when she was offered a legal position in another town.

BET Plus, or BET+ as the company has branded it, is a joint venture between Viacom's BET Networks and Tyler Perry Studios. The ad-free subscription video-on-demand service is set to kick off with more than 1,000 hours of shows, movies, and stand-up specials, including content from Tyler Perry, Tracy Oliver, Will Packer, and other African American content creators.
