Kevin's "unfinished business" leads to a dark Y&R return

Greg Rikaart is stepping back into the role of The Young and the Restless' Kevin Fisher, but don't expect his reformed-bad-guy character to still have his squeaky-clean image when he returns to Genoa City to settle "unfinished business" this June.

The sun may be poised to shine bright in Genoa City this summer, but those rays won't be strong enough to keep a burgeoning shadow at bay: Kevin Fisher is heading back to his hometown, and it looks like viewers can expect a much darker version of The Young and the Restless character when Greg Rikaart reprises the role next month.

The actor, who last appeared on the CBS soap opera in February 2018, is stepping back into Kevin's shoes on a recurring basis beginning Friday, June 7, and TV Line reports that the character has shed his good-guy persona. In fact, with his nemesis Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) back from the "dead," he has downright dismissed it.

Teases the outlet: "The reformed baddie - who has been living off the grid in Oregon with Chloe and their daughter Bella after Chloe faked her death to avoid jail time for murdering Adam Newman - resurfaces in the wake of Adam's resurrection to finish some unfinished business... and re-explore his darker side in the process."

As fans of Rikaart know, Y&R stunned viewers back in May of 2017 when they decided not to renew the actor's contract after 14 years. Fortunately, those fans were able to see him take on the role of Days of our Lives' Leo Stark shortly after he left Y&R, and just recently wrapped up his role as the deliciously duplicitous Salemite. However, news broke earlier this April that he would be returning to Y&R, which was a major relief to the legions of fans who were outraged by his inexplicable exit over a year ago.

On the Red Carpet at this year's Daytime Emmys, Soap Central's Dan J Kroll asked Rikaart if he felt he was more like his DAYS or Y&R alter ego. You can check out what he said -- along with the entire interview --- here.
