In a statement, Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) said, "There are no words for my devastation. For the last 15 years, Kristoff St. John has been my other father, my friend and in the beginning, my reason for feeling as though I belonged in the Y&R family. He was an unbelievable example of strength, given what he endured over the course of his life. But most importantly, he taught us all every single day how to choose to have fun with life no matter what. I will miss him forever... His daughters Lola and Paris will always have me as family."

"An infinite number of hearts are broken because of the passing of Kristoff St. John," Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) said in a statement released to People. "Kristoff was a loving kind generous sweet hilarious gifted human. He left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know him. I am so grateful to have been able to work with him and laugh with him. My deepest condolences go out to his family and especially his children, who I know he loves so much."

Wrote Tyler Christopher (Stefan DiMera, Days of our Lives; ex-Nikolas Cassadine, General Hospital): "Thank you for your friendship when I was having a difficult time some years ago. You didn't even know me yet you dropped whatever you were doing to meet with me and share your spirit in hopes that it may lift mine. A rare commodity. Rest my friend."

"Kristoff St. John was one of the kindest most generous men I've ever known," wrote Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins/Ryan Chamberlain, General Hospital). "I pray he's found the peace he was seeking. R.I.P. This sweet prince was loved and he will be missed."

Actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who guest-starred on Y&R in 2016, shared an extra-long tribute on Instagram, writing: "I am still trying to process the news that this dear, dear man is gone. Forgive me if what I say here doesn't come together just right, but I have to say something about @kristoffstjohn. He deserves as loving a tribute as my early morning sadness can muster. #KristoffStJohn was love. Just pure and simple: love. He was the kind of person you meet who you feel like you've known your entire life. He had a gift for making people feel instantly at ease. He could immediately diffuse any nervousness you had. In my case, I was a ball of nerves because I was playing my first role on a soap opera ever...on #YandR which happened to be one of my FAVORITE soap operas...AND I was meeting HIM, who I had been a fan of most of my life. It could have been a scary, heavy moment. Kristoff made it LIGHT."

Wrote Alice Hunter (Kerry Johnson): "My heart is with the family and loved ones of Kristoff St. John. Sending you strength and healing. May he be met with the comforting arms of his beloved son and may their gentle souls rest together for eternity."

"There are no words," wrote Winsor Harmon (ex-Thorne Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful). "I loved ya like a brother man. We had some incredible conversations regarding battles we both have fought and fight. May you finally RIP my dear friend. We will forever miss your love and light. Say hello to Heaven for me brother."
