A new Mexican-American comedy by Robert Sudduth, the real-life husband of Y&R's Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher), is coming to ABC.

The Young and the Restless' Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher) and his real-life husband, Robert Sudduth, have no doubt been celebrating because ABC has picked up Sudduth's new comedy series for development.

Deadline reports the popular television network has given the green light to the single-camera comedy by Rikaart's hubby and The Real O'Neals co-creators, Casey Johnson and David Windsor.

Written by Sudduth, the family series follows a gay couple and their son who move back in with one of the fathers' Mexican-American family in the heart of Texas.

The project is said to be semi-autobiographical: Sudduth was raised by a Texas Latino family and is, as previously stated, married to Rikaart.

Sudduth, who used to work as an actor, was a writer on Telenovela, GCB, The New Normal, The Crazy Ones, and Red Band Society. He and Rikaart married in 2015.
